This is goa... so is hallucinogen ;)

Kids, let's keep something in mind: Acid owns goa :D Usually :p
DJ Nuclear
goa is acid trance... I dunno if you could differentiate one 303 based trance from the other. And psytrance owns acid trance whatever as far as parties go...there's no where more hardcore than psytrance parties. :)

I think acid techno would be considered another genre, though, kinda...I've heard this stuff at psytrance parties..

Neither here nor there... sorry mate, but goa and acid are totally different.

Goa evolved from EBM, is from goa (duh!) and is all complicated, with all those synth-lines and it's psychedelic. It's like comparing

Acid trance evolved from german techno, is not that complicated . Highly 303 (tranzier than acid techno, obviously), and, depending on the tune, pads and some more melodic stuff (I chose to show the tunes which have them to show the difference more clearly). It's not psychedelic at all.

Here are some samples:

Goa / Psy-trance (I can't be arsed to make any difference among these genres :p)

Astral Projection - Mahadeva

Hallucinogen - LSD

Acid Trance:

Hardfloor - Acperience 1

Jon the Dentist - Global Phases

Quite different, innit? :)

EBM or Eurodance depending on how you listen to it, I've seen both listed as influences on different websites, although I think goatrance sounds more like eurodance than EBM, that's for sure.

THESE are acid techno (all samples 80kbps, 44khz, mono)

lawrie immersion - even if now she's got a perm

lawrie immersion - burn tikkla

a&e dept - the rabbit's name was... (a&e dept's omatosis mix) original mix is NOT acid techno: julian liberator said in an interview that they had planned to release two versions from the very beginning: acid trance one (original) and acid techno one (omatosis)... and that's exactly what they did

arkatek - cut off fingercy

punk floyd - can't breathe (balloonheads's oi oi mix)

secret hero - control (christian varela's acid madrid mix)
i uploaded a very cool breakbeat part of it

now this stuff is interesting, although I still prefer goatrance as it's a nice mix of melodic trance / w acid elements. I think this is more interesting than the acid trance samples that the other guy posted. Do you have a list of this stuff, maybe I'll check out some, when I'm dabbling around.

that's right, and u know why acid air raid is so different from other releases on tracid traxx? because it was not originally released there. it was released on choci's chewns first and only then licensed to tracid traxx 4(!) years after. perhaps, tracid realized that this track would raise the label's rating because it sounds so much better than other stuff released there :p ;)

Thanks for clearing that up dude, i like most of the stuff released on Tracid Traxxx cause most of there songs do have some wicked 303 loops etc. But it's just simply not the original Acid Trance that i'm after :P

Yep they are definetly Acid Trance but i don't think they were released on Tracid Traxxx, pity, those would probably be some of A.S.Y.S' best work.... :D

Hey, Verona^my, these tunes that acid junkie posted are acid techno. There are several threads about it, just look for "lochi AND acid" in the search engine and you'll have a huge list ;)

And about goa evolving from eurodance... no mate, it didn't. I've studied the history of goa and, as far as I know, eurodance had nothing to do with it. Here's a document about its origins:

Oath, has never left my record bag and never will! One of the best choices i made when buying this track :D Along with buying Rank 1 - Airwave :)
DJ Nuclear
Goa evolved from psychadelic rock and has existed for far longer than trance or "eurodance". Another big local acid trance writer around here is spacegirl if you wanna check her stuff out. She does live PA.
