Civics are some fast whip, yo.
I want a boosted V8 soooooo bad...but I'd rather have it be turbocharged than blown like the new Cobra...have you guys seen the kits for the old 5.0 Stangs pushing 1000+ horsepower on the street?  |

| you want fast go for an rx-7 or a skyline...skylines can go into the 10s with a few mods and *clears throats* money :D :D :D |

You want fast get a crotch rocket. You want massive top end, get a Supra with a large single turbo, and watch so called "superbikes" dissapear in your rearview like toys...:D
Can you tell I'm boost biased? |

yea supras are monsters on the highway..especially iff they are APU
i take out light BPU's from a deadstop
from a roll..they eliminate me |

if you are after torque in a newer civic you might look into dropping a CRV engine in there.
they are not really expensive, and not heavily performance biased, but they have more torque and still many tuning capabilites. unfortunately thats still not a very cheap and easy solution

and if you're looking for some punchy bass, I suggest their 34" sub
The price tag is alittle heafty at $5,999.99 USD, but I'd say it's well worth the money. if you have an amp or two that can power it, that is.
:D :D  |
lool!:p yea....that's exactly what i wanted...and the price range fits too!:D |

| quote: | | Ummmmm, yeah go ahead and do a supercharger right away. Then have fun when you over boost it and say good bye to your rods or rings. And don't waste all that money on headers, heads and intake, because why not get a supercharger. Ok, a supercharger pushes air into the intake, and if that intake doesnt flow well, then what. Also, if the heads flow stock CFM, you're still screwed. Same goes for headers, you've just got another bottle neck with stock manifolds. Ok, now onto the bottom end, if you're running stock rods, crank and pistons not made for extra boost, or even running stock compression, all you're asking for is a blown engine. I'm not saying that running a supercharger on a stock car is worthless, because you'll gain some nice horsepower, but don't just throw it on there without modding your car first. |
M8, I've seen it all. I work at a shop and from what I have seen, boring out mannies, shaving heads, changing piston, etc... doesn't really make all that difference that people talk about. My best m8 put in just about everything you could think of in his Corrado. Even did engine rebuilt. Had cams, manni, so much I can't even list. Its pushin, oh ya, but not as much as if he boosted. Of course when I say putting on a charger or turbo its not a easy job. You have to know compression ratios, how you're air/fuel mixture is etc... You can't just put any boost you want obviously. My point is that with all the money on e I wasted I probably gained maybe 25-30 hp, if that. I've waisted close to four grand. Yet I know people who slapped on superchargers on a stock engines(besides cluth, and fuel upgrades wich are necessary) runnning 6psi, wich is very safe, and are craking out about 210-220 hp, about 50-60 more horses! Now, kind of makes me wish I did the same. That's all I am saying.
cheers |

your average bimmer isnt very fast either, faster than a civic, but not fast fast

Ya, the G60 is known for engine fires. My m8 has the VR6, he hasn't had any fire problems, but he's had his share of disasters. Mostly antireeze leaks, ex: hoses keep busting(the connectors are plastic and can't seem to last very long).
