well as for tuning street cars and getting to drive a load of them, GT3 has this beat.
my qualms with GT3 reside in the complete lack of AI and the physics engine could 'feel' a little more realistic - tho it still is the most realistic out there (for a console) most likely.
TOCA/DTM/Pro has intelligent AI that will follow more than one line, kock you off course, and make things interesting. GT3 doesnt. TOCA/DTM/Pro has fully realistic damage...check those videos for an examples - its amazing! GT3 doesnt. Cars dont just pop on 2 wheels, they can flip, roll and fall completely apart - unlike GT3.
while my only closest experience on the game is trying TOCA2 on my PC, and i have to say the physics isnt quite what GT3 can do - is that the tires feel more real. in GT3 it always feels like you are just floating, and your tires never really 'break' traction, and you autos body never really gets jostled loose from the pavement over bumps or rough surfaces...
they are small differences, and i would never say one would replace the other. i just think this game is interesting cause if focuses on things that GT3 overlooks| |

i think i read there are 48 different cars...or something.
theyve licensed a bunch of DTM/TOCA/V8 teams...so there are mult versions (colorwise) of the cars.
and of course it looks to be possibly the first good racing RPG|
go dig around on www.codemasters.com you should be able to find some good info! |

| Has anyone bought it or played it yet? I was gonna go pick it up but thought I'd wait for a little more feedback on it since it's getting a lot of mixed reviews.... |

i have a game called "mobil 1 rally championship" for the PC, but only like 50 people bought that game i think, but they came out with like a re-release of it with some new cars, all new tracks, and more arcade/fun driving style called "rallisport challenge" for both xbox and pc and some people are buying it.
I played the xbox version - played smooth as silk, but the PC version has much more detailed graphics. Was a big download from irc though, 3 cd's. But worth it, this game is fun. check it out: http://gamespot.com/gamespot/storie...2897048,00.html
Check out the screenshots in that link, because this game prolly has the best graphics of any driving game ever for any system!!! From the gamespot review: "Rallisport Challenge is easily the best-looking driving game currently available on the PC" But you better have a good system to run the game well.
if anyone gets this game and is on the east coast US, we can trade ip's and play each other online as well, that would be fun.
oh, i just saw a demo for it here: http://www.microsoft.com/games/PC/rallisport_challenge.asp |
