lol... to be honest, i doubt your friend's openmindedness towards trance, even though i've never met the people. I'm speaking out of personal experiance. One of them says "man this is gay " and this one stupid ass girl called Ayla - Liebe (ATB Mix) 'chinese music'. Maybe because i'm chinese, but she really thought that the piano-ish part of the song is oriental. stupid bittch...
ANnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnYYYYYYYYyyyyyyyyyyywayyyyyyzzzzzzzz....

| ekko, i was thinking the same thing. my friend hates trance, or any club music for that matter. yet the other night we were at AvB, and everytime a track had a breakbeat in it, he would go 'oh man!! this is awesome!!!' so, if your crowd likes hip hop, try good trance with breaks in 'em. System F - Dance Valley theme 2001 has that killer break in the begining. |

I had some friends over last night and all they wanted to hear was rap.
I played;
Holly Shwartz - Crossing Glow
Dave 202 & Phil - Green Legends (club mix) mixed on top of the Peace With Inches speech from Any Given Sunday.
Divine Inspiration - The Way (Svenson And Gielen remix)
Arome - Hands Up (DJ Scot Project Remix)
just to name a few. I don't think that went over well with them. |

Here are some tracks that are bouncy enuff to get a non-trance crowd going:
Public Domain - Rock Da Funky Beats
JDS - Nine Ways (Darude vs JS16)
ATB feat. York - Fields of Love (Public Domain)
Hampenberg - Ducktoy <--shyte, but they'll love it
You can also try and slowly wean them with better remixes of commercial tunes (IvD - Will I [Flutlicht]) coz they'll recognize the vocals or whatever |

well, this is always gonna be a tricky job, but y not start of with rap/hip hop, then go into nu-skool breaks, then into perhaps intelligent drum and bass, then cross over onto breakbeat trance then slowly make it more trancey.. and see how that works?!?!
could work. ;) lol |

| Play eurodance together with more danceable pop stuff (like Kylie) + some funky house. That should do. |

I gotta admit, trance is a LOVE :p and not something that you can easily convert people with. I tried wid my mates at school and they were all to interested in crap like Oasis :(.
Your best bet is to go with rap. :( |
