| It seems like fairly often when I find a movie, actor/musician, or song that I think is nice, I start getting obsessed with it and download the entire soundtrack and stuff... the only thing I don't work this way with is people, what with switching on and off from person to person I like. Right now it's Ghost World, what do you guys think of this movie? It's got such great old tunes, and Seymore is so cool... Steve Buscemi rules... |

I guess some people are like that :D You arent the only one. May be its like a fad or something. Something interesting or significant that sparks our own interest to find more of that 'something'.
I usually do go look for more of that artist or remix if i heard a track thats really good, but not with movies or anything else.
I guess the music industry has found a weakness in society, obsessive behavior with teenage girls and boy bands. Capitalism fests of weakness

i tend to do that to an extent. really immerse myself in something i like. I dont think its extreme enough to be called an obsession but yeah when I find an artist I really like or something of the sort I'll go through their entire body of work. of course I dont have the time to do it comprehensively so I'll skim through but I do like to dig deeper...
edit: and i just realized this thread was from 2002 :p |

Even though this is a bumped thread I'll reply...
As a kid I had "theme days". Maybe I saw a movie about submarines in the morning. Then I went to build a submarine with my Lego's. Then I drew submarines. Then I played I was a submarine captain. Etc etc... I loved theme days (that I made up myself). |
