considering that you can go into law school straight out of undergrad...7 years isn't that WOWish...thats pretty standard. I'm not trying to take anything away from the accomplishment because i know how hard it is, but although he has a law degree i'm sure it ain't no Harvard, Yale, Oxford (for you brits hehehe) law degree.

So may I ask what WOWish accomplishments have you completed within the last 7 years of your life?

If Armin were to get a Harvard, Yale or Oxford degree, would you forsee Armin staying in the Netherlands to practise or the States or UK?

Armin got his degree for he is able to manage his time properly and even fulfilled his goal of touring and DJing.

I am not trying to diss you here but Harvard, Yale, Oxford or even ivy-leagues are over-rated. If you research on some University exchange programs, there have been occurences where undergrads from those fancy school can't even score an A in their neighbouring country. What does this tell you? You were bred and raised by aristocratical dictators who made the system that way, all the ivy-league blahs blahs....Times have changed, there are other emerging schools which will breed new talents. In this society, personal achievement stands out more than what you've studied over the years. It's how you make use of what you learned that propels you to a higher level. Bah....too much crap and stuff.....i could go on forever, but the propaganda surrounding these schools are the best are just too passe in today's context. Professions that yielded you most money say 20 years back have diminished significantly. It's like the gold rush for the Americans, if this job provides better prospects, why should I choose otherwise. There you go, within the last few years, which rich people do we see on Forbes? CEOs or doctors or lawyers....I am not saying they do not make that much....sure they'll be able to secure a nuclear family. Fame and fortune goes well hand in and hand, it's how you attain them that is the difficult part.

Armin's reputation has been strong these years. I knew that he was a law student back in 1999....young, talented and churned out beautiful tunes that supplied the tranceaddicts. He's a fine example of accomplishing 2 distinctive status within 7 years....say....divide that by 2 = 3.5 years....You do the Math....

He's made himself what he is today and nothing we say will take that away from him....

Peace,
F999

i'm a reasonable person and i see what you are saying, but you cannot say that schools don't make a difference. other then money, there is a lot that separates schools. i have a friend that goes to law school at NYU and his brother went to a good law school in texas. i have other friends that have gone to regular state colleges and you know what the difference is? the amount of time spent on studies. i'm not saying armin is an idiot, i'm just saying that if you go to a school that isn't noted for a strong in this case law program, then of course it will be easier. kobe bryant still got his degree while playing basektball, but you know what he didn't get it the old fashioned way...in class. now i'm just speculating here, but i would have to believe that armin didn't go to class that much given the fact that he is on the road so much. i'm just trying to point out the difference between what regular people go through at law school and what those with special circumstances go through.

His music reflects this...pretty much everything he produces sounds very different from his other stuff. His music is also very deep IMO.
