I'm done. I'm over it. It has gotten lame. I'm fighting w/lil boys.
Johnny Vicious played it last night at Sound Factory, the place exploded. He worked it really well. It was phat...not amazing though. |

a short and sweet way of putting it is . . .
the sounds are a lot smoother, the music more intelligent, the effect more powerful

flight 643 has elements of progressive to it but its not true progresive
Infinity gave a pretty good run down on why its not progressive

Jeez, just because you go to a place like "Twilo" now and then (which doesnt mean SH*T when you compare it with clubs/parties in Europe) you think you are some kind of a trance-guru. |

From my point of view (wich prolly is wrong, hehe) i'd say progressive is when the music starts with moving beats, but not to make you dance. And then it goes harder and faster and with more energy. And then, at the middle until the almost-end of the track, it reaches its climax. The you go crazy and dance your ass off. Then goes again slowly until it ends.
Or that could be just plain stupid. |

i think its just gotten to the point where everyone makes up/knows their own definition, its nothing that can be drawn out specifically but people who know the music well have a good feeling as to what is, and is not progressive.
but still there's no definite lines, which is why we have arguments like in this forum
e.g. the consensus is that basically the entire global underground series is progressive (w/ exception of maybe tony de vit e.g.) |

I neva claimed to be the "all-knowing" anything. I had to ask many times for a solid argument citing reasons as to why its not progressive. I'm not wrong. Genre Classification is subjective like musical taste. Can U read? I said I enjoyed it when I heard it at Soundfactory. What does goin to Twilo every wk have to do with it? I've been to Amsterdam & partied all over the world. Grow up! |
