While some of Cosmic Gate's stuff may indeed be cheesy (not all), Kai Tracid's works are deep and soulful. And I agree with aloep that Lasgo and some other similar artists are quality. For example, Noemi: I love their tracks like "In My Dreams" and "Y.O.U." |

I'd go with Cosmic Gate = Firewire. Exploration of Space was cheesy yet innovative and unique. Firewire is just a trashy remake.
Second place goes to Darude - Feel the Beat, which was just a sad, sad ripoff of Sandstorm. |

Some of Kai Tracid's works are, but the rest, ugh...
Destiny's Path is one I remember being somewhat tolerable, and a few others, but I hate his sense of melody & structure, just not my thing at all.
Cosmic Gate, what do they play anyhow? Someone said it's hard trance, well I guess it's cause I cant stand hard trance. Dumonde is another group I dont like at all either, cant stand those warped basslines & distorted nonsense... There synthwork bores me too, basically it's like some stupid distorted beat, wack bassline, & a synth riff in the sky.... Thats not how I like trance to sound. It may not be commercial, (thank god) but I sure as hell find it cheesy.
give me something nice & warm like an Astrix bassline, or the new Astral Projection album. Or outside of psytrance, a PVD tune, or some Solarstone. |

They have a new one "When Angels Kiss", & Planet Violet "Velvet Skies" is really Noemi under a different name, it's listed on the album at the Noemi website. It's supposed to be on the album, whenever it comes out. |

Heh, some ppl. well, actually most ppl. think like that. I myself dig to their style. Their music is quite unique, actually. To take into consideration that no one else has done the same thing before. That's why they are original. They have remade those tracks in such a grade that they are quite good.
But that's just my opinion, I mean you and I should agree that Ian van Dahl produces nothing but pure crap. But many ppl. actually dig their work. There is a slight difference in ppls. opinions.
BTW, I like the synths of Galaxee. They might be gouda for some ppl. but I sure as hell dig 'em. Most of their tracks have a steady beat too (Check out Lullaby, a rock solid beat :) |
