Man I am sooo tired of seeing this on TV....

Christian Children's Fund and all those other stupid "gimem your doantions to send to kids in a far away country u never heard of" . First of all I have been in Canada since 1989 and I have seen the same ing commercials ever since 1992. All the kids that they show in the fottage they have are probably (unfortuantely) dead. But they still say "send money for these poor kids". Second of all, besides teh old footage they show, I gave this a thought: All those "has-been" celebreties they put on there cost money, the commercial airtime costs again money and the ppl they have taking the calls and the ppl who run this crap ALL COST MONEY! U can't tell me that ALL these ppl are working for free and that the networks wil give almost 2 minutes of comercial airtime for charity. BS. I would not fork over one penny to these ppl because I don't know if ALL the money I am sending is going to the kids. I bet over half of it goes to the foundations itself to pay for costs.
Third and last. Why d I have to donate to something that does not even affect my area in the world? Man, there is plenty of hungry kids, homeless and sick ppl that need help IN OUR OWN COMMUNITY. Why should I doante money to some ppl ina country Inever heard of when I can send it to a local foundation like the salvation army and the united way who do local stuff. I donate to the salvation army whatever I Can around the holidays because at least I am donating money for a cause that affects my community.
I really wish they would pull those commercials from TV and at least show some new damn footage and how about making one of those Christian children's fund commercials (or any one of these foundations) to organize donations for the sick and homeless kids in our own community. THAT idea Iwould open my pocket book to.

| This doesn't affect you now, but you have to realise that a lot of diseases(example AIDS) initially come from Africa. Until poverty there is stopped, it will affect everyone. |

May not affect me now? do u know how aids was started and how it came here? plz explain.
Second, I still beleive in solvng problems at home first and THEN other countries. there is no place like home u know. ;)
It is not that I have no compassion for these ppl but it is just that what pisses me off is the fact that all the money u would donate does not go to the kids but probably their own pocket. No one works for free for long. U can't tell me they are all volounteering. |

Well, speaking of which, I really can't give a flying f00k about any of those charities, simply because I can't even afford to live in this goddamn country myself, let alone worry about some kid in Africa that is most likely gonna die in the next couple of weeks anyway.
Unless I strike a lottery or something soon, I don't see myself helping them out anytime soon... I'll leave that to the more "better off" people in this society. |

Aids did not "start"... it has been around for millions of years in the the blood of certain animals....until it recently.. within the last 50 years.... began to slowly adapt to human hemoglobin with the blood stream. Throughout the 80's... homosexuals.. not using protection at the time (becuase it was used to prevent pregnancy) help spread the disease much faster than the straight population becuase of the nature of their sexual activity. That doesnt mean they are at fault...or they are the reasonwhy Hiv and Aids exist... which many people ignorantly think. Rather.. the gay community was the first to feel the affects of the disease calling it at the time "gay cancer". Now it is spreading around the world rapidly... espescially in Africa. |

why are u getting into germany now? why don;t u go over to Afrika then and give them your dough when u could be helping kids in TO?

as far as I know aids was started cause somebody in the jungle ed a monkey or mosquitos started transmitting the desease. As far as I know.
I seem to get the notion that Durafei does not like Germany too much. Dunno why. |

I have nothing against Germany. My point is: it makes sense helping other POOR countries ! After WW1, nobody gave a about Germany. It was a in' poor country. One of the reasons for WW2, was because Germany was such a poor country. After WW2, people in other countries got smarter, and helped Germany out. And here we are - Germany is one of the best countries in the world. |

:) k now we got that cleared up :)
but still, should it not be a priority to help our own poor ppl first which I think would take much less time THEN we can help those ppl. That is what I am trying to say. Our own poor should be a priority. |
