1999...it all started with tiesto @ innercity, and cheesy alice deejay-like artists.

i didn't get into real trance until 2001 when i discovered this facking awesome site!

In the middle of summer of 1999 - I remeber grooving to some good euro dance music .. such as Loona - bailando , when the DJ started playing some great music. Alice Deejay - better off alone was probably the start of everything, with Kay Cee - Excape, push - universal nation .. this track was huge ! .. then it came Ayla , dj sakin and so on. But what sparked my real search and love to trance was .. the Dream Dance compilation that contained probably one of the biggest trance anthems. Sasha - Xpander, Marc et Claud - Ne, Fragma - Toca Me , energy 52 - cafe del mar and so on.. and later on that year, I discovered, GATECRASHER ! .. CREAM ! ..IBIZA 1999 aand, my radio began doing a special radio show late at nite, playing the best, and latest in trance.. out of the blue, gouryella, binary finary .. all this tracks.. it was a wonderfull year ! ! ! ! TOO many good tracks, getting hammered in the beautifull summer of 1999.

I think that counts, dood. I've got some old trance comps that had Robert Miles and Scooter tunes on them. :)

thanks for clearing it up for me. i decided to listen to the tapes; omg, bring up memories...

some of the stuff there... i can't even classify it by genre... synth eurotechno or something... anything but cheesy though.

some of the tracks i've been able to identify:

koala - australia
n-trance - mind of the machine
de la cruz - tonight (in my house)
joan osborne - what if god was one of us (some remix)
komakino - man on mars
sash! - ecuador
dj quicksilver - planet love
[kai tracid??] - your own reality (version with female vocals)
imperio - atlantis OMFG SO GOOD
das modul - robby roboter (remeber even watching a video of this :p)

remember copying some of those from a tape with peach-colored label that said something like Rave 6

dunno, just felt like sharing that. but hearing all that again, i think that i might've actually started listening to electronica in early 1997. i remember hanging out with my friends, blasting scooter, and getting them addicted to fire & the age of love :p

or... i used to listen to imperio like before 1997.. damn it, i don't know, i'm confused now, never mind me. the only thing i remember is that i had absolutely no idea what a CD was :D
