I'll say it before someone else does: check out the Zero Tolerance label for some harder, deeper progressive stuff. Aussie based too, so you can't go wrong. ;)

As for specific tracks, I posted this in a progressive thread in the music discussions forum:

quote:
Tracks on my playlist that are relatively new (presented in alphabetical order no less):

Andy Moor - Athena / No More (liking his new direction)
Bluefish - Chameleon
Dan Goodall - Summit
Freeloader - Glow (Polekat Remix)
Gardner & Thomas - Turn to Try
Katakana - Tokyo (reminds me of why I started liking prog in the first place)
LSG - Goddess / Loose Ends (Loose Ends would be perfect to start a darker set off with)
Misja Helsloot vs Roland K - A Different World (love the bassline)
NDSA - Or What (Inkfish Remix)
Neurotic Jock - Therapy (dark, bass-heavy prog house, very much of the Filterheadz type sound)
Noctophobia - Perfect Sense
Peter Martin (aka Slide) - Co-da / Everything in Between
Rogue - Dohan Girls (Alex Flatner Remix) (another one that reminds me of the progressive of a couple of years ago)
Rulers of the Deep - Dirty Grooves
Shafunkers - Open Skies / Rhythm Design (if the second one doesn't make you want to get up and dance, then there is no hope for you)
Smight - Happy Place / Rebuilding Twelve
Thomas Penton - Dirty Sanchez

But by far the track of the moment is....

Funktion - Seduction

I've got two mixes, both labelled as the "original mix". Once is a more chilled track with these warming synths over the top of a laid-back housey beat, but it's the second, more pumping one that you're after. It's exactly the sort of track I could see Danny Howells or Deep Dish playing at the peak of their set - can't get enough of it. It goes right off. :D

"What's going on..... what's going on..... what's going on....."

Hope that helps. Also, for the techno side of things, I just downloaded John Starlight - Bloodangels (Chris Liebling Remix) and it is the bees knees - one of those tracks you could quite easily slip into the darker, harder moments of a prog set...... should wake everyone up at least. :D

If you need any more tracks I'll post my recent winamp playlists. Full of gems if you want my personal opinion. :D

Techno is the way to go,

Get anything from the Guy McAffer - RAW series

Download anything from D.A.V.E The Drummer, Ant, some tunes from Chris Liberator, Julian Liberator and Aaron Liberator and also download some tunes from these labels, Purpose Maker, Labworks, ReLoad, Molecular, Tresor and Construct Rhythm.

Prog House Labels:

Bedrock :D
Fade
Silver Planet
Hooj (More tech housey of late, not the trance of '99)
Lost Language
Renaissance
Fire Records (Cass & Slide's Label, but closed up now)
Sabotage (Cass' New Label to replace Fire)
Duty Free (Tall Paul's Label, more commercially orientate prog but some of its cool)
Distinctive (Hybrid & Way Out West's Label)
Ronster
Zero Tolerance (Based in Melbourne this label is DARK)
Circulation (Artists own label)
Baroque (Quivver's Label, makes good stuff from time to time)
Coded/Quad Communication (Global Undergrounds Own Label)
EQ Grey (Another Aussie label going great guns)
Cyber (Dj Gogo & Dj Nukem appear on this label, awesome stuff)
Shinici US (Housey/Tech Housey/Prog its all good)

I find the best prog can come on weird ass labels that nobody's heard of, so don't try and stay with the big gun labels.

and dont shop for prog @ the dj factory.

i forgot

Yooshi (Deep Dish's label, comes out with house/tech house/prog and techno)
