I recently listened to a dnb set and came across a set that had some pretty sweet songs:

Raiden - Fallin`
Illskillz - be there 4 u

if anyone out there has any trance n bass songs to recommend please do
Synaesthesia
I've always loved DJ Teebee - Guilty.

wicked, wicked tune...there's a part in it that almost sounds like Xpander being sped-up & played backwards, too. :p

John B feat. Libby Kitten - Electrofreek (Epic Killah mix) <- classic :D

Sta & Paul B - Secrets inside <- fooking class!!!! Russian dnb owns!!!!

Rawthang - Epilogue <- quite tranzy and nice vocals ;)

Cause 4 Concern - Luca (teebee mix) <- quite tranzy as well...

and I produce trance'n'bass as well (the epic sort of stuff which I'd rather call trancestep)... here's a thread about one of my tunes. I'm not gonna post the links for the song here because this is not the right forum for this :D

Yeah, I like the trance and bass (Tnb? :)) too, the John B album was wonderful. Personally the Electrofreak freak song is my fave :)

My favorite DnB tune of all time is a trance n bass crossover.

High Contrast - Return of Forever (John B Remix)

The first time I heard it was when I saw John Tab drop it live in his set. When he played it and the drums dropped out and it was just the melody, everything was in slow motion:D

Oh, I'm sorry. Maybe we don't feel like saying "a style of music that's played at drum n bass speed and has drum n bass percussion but with trance melodies" every time.

Why don't YOU get over it, hmmm?

You know what we're talking about, don't you? It's about Liquid Funk, which is a very rich genre, borrowing elements from trance, house and/or any other genre such as bossa nova. However, if we're looking just for the tranzy stuff and we say trance'n'bass, there was communication, two people clearly understood each other and it shall continue this way till it get a better name and become an actual genre.

Get over it

What exactly is trance n bass? Did that mixmag CD about it accurately represent it, and if not, can you explain it for me better? and where did it come from... tnx

Before talking about trance'n'bass we need to look back to what led to the creation of this sound.

It all began with experimental drum'n'bass, which doesn't need any intro: it's the result of some people experimenting on drum'n'bass :p Out of these experiences came "liquid funk" which is drum'n'bass containing elements from other genres such as house, trance, techno, polka,... anything at all :D Lately, the breeding of drum'n'bass and trance became quite popular in the underground scene but it's not a genre yet. "Why not?", you might ask. Simply because there are no producers and DJ's that work exclusevely with this sound. Maybe, in a near future, it may evolve to a proper genre, maybe not.

This trance'n'bass name was given by mixmag to show what this tranzy dnb is, so it's not official or anything.

In fact, I'd rather call it trancestep, which isn't such a cheese name :D

its interesting how nobody in the dnb scene calls it 'trance n bass' yet everyone in the trance scene wants to latch on to it as if its the new fad, when in fact this kind of sound has been around for a while...

I heard some of this style and i dont like it. I dont belive trance should be changed into that, However some people like it and thats just my opinion.
