1 more thing as far as that statement of being fat and lazy..how stereotypical can you be..the average american work week is 40 hours..my work week varies between 60 and 80 hours. i dont have off on weekends..i havent taken a vacation in 2 years.
i know that is more than most european countries |

Bro, that's gotta suck big time... I mean, you might love it (for whatever the reason), but working 60-80 hours a week?! What's the point?! Does a word "LIFE" exist in your dictionary at all? See, that's the reason why Europe will always be ahead of the North America, when it comes to social life... Europeans accomplish more by working less, and still have time to enjoy their life. |

well, its true that usa has the highest rate of obesity.
as for tooting ur own horn, well I don't really care, but many others around the world do, and they despise it. Its like the rich brat saying "oh, they're just jealous of my money and greatness" when its really the attitude that they dont' like. |

i wasnt saying anything about how much money i have, i dont know where u got that idea from. i was saying that the rest of the world has this stereotypical view of us that we are all fat and lazy when in fact our work week is longer and we get less vacation time than most european countries.
i agree with you that a lot of americans are over weight and it is disgusting..especially when im stuck next to a 300 pound man on the bus ride into new york. this country thrives on fast food and that makes you fat. when u get 15 to 30 minutes for a lunch break its just easier i guess. i know in italy my relatives stop working at 1 and go home to have a nice healthy lunch. i myself cant stand fast food and my kids wont eat that crap either.
it just aggrevates me that in a lot of these forums we have all these people that bash america and have no personal experience of what its like to live here or has ever met an american. we get judged from our TV shows, our media and our music or what someone has told them to believe about us. i never been to england, i would never assume that they all act like benny hill or mr. bean. i saw on the BBC once where a group of people from Scotland set fire to a bus of the opposing soccer teams(or football)fans. Should i think taht everyone from Scotland is so crazy that that they would try to murder innocent fans over the outcome of a game. its just not fair to judge the whole country because of the behavior of some. |

but seriously in the past 10 years there have been lots of murders here especially after celtic - rangers games! there are usually assualts every weekend due to football colours being seen by opposing supporters! :( |

You see, what you said here in this post, I think is really wrong... There are some people living in "grass huts" and raising their own food down here, and they didn't choose to. The USA are not trying to aid them. If they had chosen to go against captalism like you said, then I'd agree with you. And I've read once that the amount of money the USA invests in warfare, army etc anually, if used in Africa to produce food, famine there would be over. Maybe you'll say "but we have to protect our country". Thats right, but the reason you have to defend yourselves is because you guys are always on war, making new enemies everyday. We barely have an army cause we think killing people is not the best way to defend our interests... I think that you (USA) are digging your own hole, but you dont realize it. We all now that youre on top now, but you people act like those arrogant, rich and usually powerfull persons that goes against all things and everyone, making things their ways just to defend what's their... No one likes these kind of person, except themselves....
I'm not against USA, actually, I have many friends there, I have been there and I enjoyed it, but sometimes you guys act bad... My country sux in many ways too, the difference is we admit it! |

Do you seriously belive that all the people who colonised America, the europeans, then left to go back home and a peaceful lot came along to start america???? It may well have been your ancestors who came along and did all that, then stayed to start america.

Never mind that you cause these countries to be poor in the first place?? - how?? Well if these countries start to export any products that america makes - you put quotas on them - destroying their export business - making them poor etc.

Once i bought a pair of XL (my size) trousers in america, and they were seriously at least 20 inches too big at my waist - this prooves something, not sure what though.

10 scottish people set fire to a bus - the american goverment kill millions a year through sanctions/trade quotas etc. Scotland is obviously worse than america. :crazy:
