For one thing, any type of war is wrong. Its another for saying millions of people dying for nothing. Id like to see u go to any country and tell everyone that their grandparents and parents died for nothing.
Dont take what you learn in your government class and act like you know what really goes on around the world. . . especially what happened way before you were born. Only can you understand what happened in vietnam if you were in it. Im vietnamese and i dont even dare utter as much as you do. |

So you're saying that minorities should stop referring to themselves as minorities in order to be treated fairly? This makes no sense at all. No matter what minorities call themselves they will be subject to "criticism" simply because the color of their skin.

I have a question for you, have you ever been told that you can't do something because you're black? Do you ever feel as if you're not wanted when you go on interviews or attempt to go places where traditionally you were banned from going? Have you've been pulled over, held at gunpoint (3 times) all because the police were supsicious of you being in a predominately white area? Let me tell you this, I have been subjected to all these. And I think that once you have personally experienced this you will see that, as of now, preferential treatment is a necessary evil.
Let me also say I am not a big fan of Affirmative action because it essentially does the same thing as what it attempts to prevent. But the fact remains that to this day the majority of the US judges people based upon race/skin color. Once these judgements cease there will be no further need for Affirmative Action.

Becuase of the wonderful US... you are now a major target for terrorist attacks.. school shootings... high murder rates... and a media that happily thrives off the ignorance and stupidity of the masses....
And having the attitude of "but that was 30 years ago" is the main reason why people tend to FORGET and REMOVE the horrendous events of that time.
And "it doesnt concern" you anymore??? You just reinforced my beleif in the American public... that they like to forget about atrocieties....give me a ing break.
But we will NEVER forget 9/11...becuase that of course affected you on soil. But wait... that happened a year and a half ago..."It doesnt concern any of us"....:rolleyes: |

I think you failing to understand my point Busy-child.... what i meant by "dying for NOTHING" is that they were murdered in VAIN.... for greedy purposes of the US. And its one thing to experience Vietnam first hand (which has actually ed many veterans) and its one thing to KNOW what happened too... |

emmm...not once did i mention anything about 9/11 not affecting us...dont put words in my mouth head.9/11 happened DURING my lifetime...compared to the vietnam war in which i wasn't even alive to experience or see. |

Im using 9/11 as an example you ....an example of how innocents died in vain and the thought of it not "concerning us" in the future would certainly not happen... just like with Pearl harbor. But if a 9/11 happened in another country.,...im sure we would hardly hear about it anymore.. let alone almost forgetting about it... BECUASE NO ONE WOULD CARE!!!

The thing I dislike most about the US is our president. First of all, we didn't vote for him (nothing new there), and now the American people realize that he hasn't done in office except promote his self image. Also, in case anyone around here doesn't already know, affirmitive action is Bull. If you don't get accepted into college because you're not as qualified as I am, and you happen to be black or hispanic, well that's your own ing problem. |
