Yeah, that would have worked. I mean, Japan still refused to surrender after the first bomb, but I'm sure if the bomb had been in a remote location and had caused minimal damage instead of massive damage, they would have surrendered. |
The reason it’s detonated in a remote location for demonstration is because most probably it’s going to be detonated on your own territories. I know lets completely destroy our own territories – what a good Idea!

Also going with what Arbiter said, we only had two bombs to use anyway. What if Japan called our bluff after we already used one as a demonstration... not sure why we're discussing history of WWII but whatever |
You use a low grade (yet still tremendously powerful in the scheme of things) version like the ones they used in testing, or quite possibly used a few of them at the same time. If that doesn’t work then drop the real things. And quite possibly yes they would have surrendered. The second bomb was only dropped three days after the first. If the world and the Japanese people had been allowed a demonstration with the threat that more were coming then it could have been different. The people who were choosing not to surrender were the officials and rulers of Japan. Had the news of this terribly destructive force been allowed to circulate the world and the people of Japan learn this, then there would have been massive unrest amongst the population. If that happens then the rulers are screwed. They either capitulate to the demands of the people, surrender, or get taken out in a revolution. |

The Japanese people fought with a zeal and unity unmatched by any other military force in the world. They believed the Emperor was the descendant of god. They weren't going to turn on him under any circumstances. They were not going to be intimidated into surrendering. You're being unrealistic. |

The Japanese military, no they wouldn’t. Traditionally the forces are the most conservative elements of any society. However I don’t think your are giving the citizens, the people themselves enough credit. Your painting the regular people out to be just as “evil” as the people who had the power. |

NO.. your example is pretty pathetic if your trying to validate your point. People are the cause of car accidents.. not the makers of the car. Cars are not used as weapons,,,, their intent is to take someone from A to B not from A to being an intentional tool of harm.
 |
Then i guess you can say the same for firearms.....hand-guns and rifles right.....in that case every nation is wrong.... |

I dont think you liberated anyone in Iraq during the Gulf War..(except Kuwait.. which was reasonable).. instead, you killed over 1.5 million civilians along the way and Saddam is still in power. |
ummm dont u feel that 1.5 million figure is a little HIGH for the Gulf War?.....if you combined the amount of American soldiers and the amount of Iraq soldiers then added the civilians who died...you would STILL not reach 1.5 million deaths.....stop pulling figures from the sky....

With Afghanistan, the people there were only "liberated" after the September 11th attacks and not becuase these people were horredously oppresesed by the Taliban for the 5 plus years they came to power. Most of the UNited States didnt even know the Word Taliban until those attacks happened on your land. |
Maybe Canada should of freed them.....atleast we did...maybe it took a trajedy...but we did...and i guarantee you didnt know the Taliban prior to 9.11...get off your high horse...

Oh yes.. i forgot to mention... your government was mainly responsible for bringing those dicks to power and training your once old buddy pal OSAMA BIN LADEN....what a stupid government..LOOOOOL:stongue: :stongue: :stongue:

Well we trained Bin Laden and his little posse at the tiem because we were ALLIES at the time...doesnt make us stupid.....maybe we should use YOUR Kreskin like ablities to forsight how world affairs turn out and pick are ALLIES more carefully ....i wasnt aware that u were able to see the future...we need people like you in are military...
Not to mention..please point out one nation, that from the begining of history remained friends aka allies to date...there are none...each nation has it's own ajenda....we stick with a nation for what we need then we move on...same goes with Canada, England, Japan, Russia etc etc etc... |

Actually.. if you had the intelligence to research this .. the figure would be approxiamtely correct...I have heard that figure repeatedly from my profs... chomsky...and through my own independent research in University...I think you just cant stand the amount of people your government has killed.....its disgustingly high isnt it!
Stop pulling bull from your ass.

I full well knew who the taliban were since they came into power in 1994. I knew of their viscious existence.. their treatment of women... the radical fundamentalism... and their atrocious public executions...
Even Oprah had a special on their women before septemeber 11th... which i was so happy to see becuase not a bit of attention was been given to their inhumane acts... Yet they still hadnt been taken seriously.. until they blew up those ancient Buddhist statues which they though was anti-islamic. But as usual.... in America.. that was a 5 second tidbit in their news broadcasts... So i can reassure you that i full well knew who the Taliban were...
And the reasons that you "liberated" afghanistan is what im criticising the States for...out of Revenge! Even though it was not the Taliban who were directly responsible for the attcks.. they removed them.. (which is good becuase of what they were doing to their people)...but not for humanitarian reasons.

You really need to brush up on your ability to argue your points.
WHY WERE THEY ALLIES... is the question...why would the states train a radical islamic fundementalist like Bin Laden after the rise of Hezbollah and the attack on Israeli athletes at their olympic villiage by other fundementalists??? WHY WERE THEY ALLIES WITH THESE PEOPLE??!??!?!

That analogy does not justify the hypocritical actions of your government... Even if many nations have done the same as the US....(maybe not to the unbeleivable extent of your govt) doesnt make it right...
You need alot of learning to do boy! |
