shadowmaster you need to start learning how to read.
well i think both trance and porn are never too dull..there are just way too many productions out there that although some follow a general criteria they each have a different "mojo" |

Well i dont watch porn so here's my 2 cents.
A you are listening to ty trance, i listen to the same tracks day in and day out, i have been listening to 3 drives - Sunset on Ibiza and Greece 2000, they never get old. And Jan Johnston flesh (Tiesto mix) sends chills through my spine everytime i hear it. There is so much trance out there than never feels "old" you just need to find it, of course there will always be music that grows old and gets played out. That is just how music goes.
As for porn, Girlfriends are way better than porn. |

| That's the difference between trance (at least most epic/uplifting) and something like say Progressive House (and other more "sophisticated" genres). The first time I listen to many Prog House tracks they are just ok (cuz my brain just gets a feel for them), but the more I listen to them they often sound better and better cuz each time I hear new different nuances within the track and my brain learns to "put it all together", so to speak. |

| I'm not sure what to say. When a track is amazing it stays amazing for along time. Namely solar stones stuff (speak in sympathy and solarcoaster). Heard those many times and they still amaze me. And about trance being predictable. I see no problem with that. I just dont like all the songs sounds, being the same. I mean the songs being predictable only means you know whats coming, and for me, I get into it more. Like when a song is building to the big peak! I can never imagine what the peako f a song sounds like even though I'm listening to the build up of it for a while. Of course overly predictable is never good. |

Maybe, but can you flip through 10 girlfriends in 1 minute??? Huh??? :D
I'm actually faced with a dillema... What the heck do I do with all my trance CD's from 98/99/00 era??? The ones that have tunes like "9pm till I cum", "Better of Alone", and other mass-produced template printed e?? I mean really??? who'd buy it?
Crap, my neice once gave me MTV "now, that's what I call music" I almost beat her silly.. told her "This is what I call total, absolute " - RETURN IT!
anywho... just a rant.
 |

I actualy threw this one out in another thread, but figured I'd get an input (ahem...) from other TAs on their views about Trance...
Before we start - I am a 100% trance addict. I love trance/electronic music and I'm not bashing anyone. But here's my question...
Doesn't it seem like lately, trance tunes have a half-life of sushi in a hot, humid sun??? I hate to use this analogy but to me, lately trance has become like porn - you've seen it once, twice, three times and then it's like "Bleh, move on". What I am saying is that after you get over the initial "excitement" (cough...cough) you start looking for "quality" - not just any track will do...
So, basically finding a perfect tune worth keeping/paying for becomes harder and harder [no pun intended :happy2: ]. Seriously, just like porn - think of your initial reaction to just seing a boobie and then think about it now.. It's like, eh - seen it before nothing interesting. So, lately, for me - the tune has to be something special, something unusual...
What excited me about trance before was the unpredictability of the track... You don't know when it will hit you. But some tunes, after they hit you - the next time you listen is no longer the same. Like riding a rollercoaster - the second time around is not as exciting...
(Keeping my analogies drug free :D)
Some of the examples of those "Single-serving tunes" (c)CynepMeH, a Fight Club Member since 2001
1. Yet Another Day
2. I Believe (Nu NRG remix)
3. Castles in the sky <----(((blush))):p
actually, many more....... Not that these tracks are not quality but what I am saying is that after the initial listen - they are no longer as exciting as before...
So, are we upon the era of "Disposable Trance"??? |
I understand where you are comming from to an extent. The thing is, all those tracks you named suck.....:stongue:
Well, to be honest when I first heard castles in the sky I did like it. I think cheesey trance tends to get old more quickly (like circ- destroy she said for example).
The quality stuff lives on forever like:
endless wave
sparkles (transa remix)
flaming june
and so on.... :toothless |
