on monday night i was in sheffield..... and i happened to go to a new nite that had opened.... called 'touch'.

anyways nearing the end of the night... sum guy was playing hardstyle... but not to a very good standard.... so i collared one of the security guys and asked him if i could go and speak to the manager.... baffled, the guy sed 'yes'.

I met the manager and sed ' this guy hoo is playing now is trying to play hardstyle, but failing miserably, as his tunes r way outta date, and i think i can do a hell of a lot better' ...... stunned, the manager replied....' you think you can play better than 'the kidd'' ..... in no time at all i realised that he was refferring to 'good greef' and 'sundissential' resident Alex Kidd.....

....A little shocked, i replied 'well i know hes a good DJ, but to be honest, hes trying to play hardstyle but his tunes r way too old, and his tunes selection is of the standard that dave pearce would drool over'.....

the manager replied.... 'well youve got sum bollocks on you... why dont ya go up there now.. and prove that your better than him?' i was too drunk at the time so i told him it'd have to be another time..... to which he sed.... 'you bring your records down here any time you like... and you got yourself a head 2 head set with alex kidd'...

.... i asked the manager for his fone number so i could arrange a nite for me to come down.... and he sed 'No.... if i dont give you my fone number. you have to come down and do it'!!!!

so now here i am..... possibly a turning point in my DJ career, with a battle mix live in a club... against one of englands best hard dance and hard house, nu nrg type stuf (what ever he is)

hmmmmmmmm..... :nervous:

Who the hell is Alex The Kid?

I know Alex The Kid from my childhood, he was the prince of the Sega Master System II 8 bit system.. I used to play it all day long...

About the battle, you'd better prepare! And what if he was just having a bad night, and he really brings some smokin' records when you try to battle him? :)

Good luck trancer...

his name is 'Alex Kidd'..... he is a sundissential resident. and good greef resident.... if your from england you SHOULD know hoo he is.... i heard him play once before, and i know hes can mix well..... but tbh... mixing dont make you a good DJ.... it helps enormously..... but what good is mixing when no-one appreciates your tunes?.....

ill admit, i do need a little practice, but ive been DJ'ing for about 8 years, so im not 'not ready' for it.

in all my record collecting years, i have always been one step ahead of hard music.... and now i think its about time that us UK'ers witnessed how awesome hard music can be..... instead of just hearing popular hard tracks from holland or germany.
in england, hard music has always been sorta commercialised in the sense that ppl just dont delve deep enough into the genre to experience what its all about... the best youll hear is stuff by technoboy... and mainstream hardstyle producers.... but the real lies much deeper than that :p

oh and, thanks very much :)
