What makes you think China would help out NK? They have been one of the bigger advocates to make NK stop their nuclear efforts. Plus any nuclear activity in NK will have fallout in China. I would say that China either stays out of it or gives pressure helping the US. Same with Russia. China doesnt have long range nuclear capability yet either.
NK is all by themselves in this scenario. It will end peacefully. All NK wants is aid. Everyone will give it to them because you know what they say about the squeaky wheel with nukes! :crazy:

Even more important is the perception that if Washington were able to quickly liquidate the Saddam Hussein regime, it could soon turn to North Korea, China's traditional ally.
It is true that the CCP administration is opposed to Pyongyong developing weapons of mass destruction.
However, it still thinks Beijing and Pyongyang should maintain a "lips and teeth" relationship, and that any attack on North Korea -- even a limited offensive to wipe out its nuclear installations -- would be a challenge to Chinese power and even sovereignty.
This feeling could be behind a somewhat intriguing piece on "China's nuclear deterrent power" ran by Xinhua last week.
The official news agency quoted military experts as saying China possessed a strong ability to repel and counter nuclear attacks.
"The level of China's strategic nuclear weapons is at the forefront of the world," an unnamed PLA expert was quoted as saying.
"We have enough forces to ensure the country's nuclear safety."

I doubt anything is going to happen cuz NK is all talk... its always been like this, they just need chips to bargain with. But im just a lil worried cuz bush these days is "AXIs of evil blah blah" "fight terrorism blah blah" "Fight for workd peace blah blah." I just hope he doesnt do anything stupid because yea the us will evetually win.... but its going to come at a heavy price for both NK and SK. |

| China isn't gonna be dumb enuff to take on the military might of the USA, not to mention they are concentrating more on their own economy than other affairs, Russia would be pretty stupid to take on US as well... i'd say NK would be on itz own if this war is to take place... unless they ally with Iraq? |

China is probaly the only country that could compete with our military. I would go as far as to say that they would beat us. they have a 2.5 million man standing army and a very large nuclear arsenal that could reach every part of the globe. although their army is not technically supior to the US, the shear size of the army and china's population (1.4 billion) would cause a huge problem for the US. I would not want to get into a war with China.
We basically support Russia, I do not think they would fight us, but what you do have to worry about is the wear abouts of the former Soviet Unions nuclear arsenal. Many of the new countries that were formed when the USSR cease to exist are very poor and I think would be willing to sell nukes to countries that our enemies of the USA. |

i believe the army and navy's war colleges have conducted war games several years ago that pitted china's military forces against american military forces, with the chinese coming out on top (probably due to man power superiority). But it might have been a war games that was projected into the future (which could be now) |
