Thanks guys for the respects on the quote, but not worth it to start flaming wars.
Its not the worst thing if these people show up, they will leave being proved very wrong and if not, then they truly do need the skanks, juice monkeys etc to have a good time and that is about as pathetic and flakey as oakenfold teaming up with Crazytown guy.
Either way they will be trampled by me when Paul drops No More Rain or Solid Sleep or Nothing But You or ....im in trouble.
As for working at GUV, no more for me. some people there just did not want to help me out as I was told they were, either way its for the better.
I am currently helping out people who are much smarter, respectful individuals who look to the vibe and have knowledge of the music, i.e. orkidea, matt hardwick, talla, johan, oh and this guy named Paul Van Oakenfold. You might know them as Temporal Rythym. |

I find it funny how Viva gets trashed on TorontoRaves, gets a reasonable response on Tribe, and is applauded as the next superclub here.
I dig the place, but I miss multi-room events (raves/clubs/whatever). |

Oh boy!
I better stop writing and just stick with pictures!
What I wrote in the Guv Msg Board as compareing Viva to Guvernment was nothing bias. Beleive me when I tell you that I heard this comparison from a few people that Have experienced both clubs...We're all entitled to our opinions and those opinions are bound to change as time moves forward...
So Relax, Enjoy the music and Smile!
Cheers,
Shaya:D :D :D |

see.. the problem here is that often people aren't willing to give a promoter or a club a second chance. i know that Viva is often trashed by the rave community because many 'ravers' first experience there was at the Destiny:NYE party which was obviously overpacked to the max like at Guv : Labour of Love. So right away that gave them a bad impression about the place. That and the lasers in the club experienced problems and shut down early into the night , so half the people that got inside much later didn't even get a chance to experience that effect.
Now with regards to the 'clubbers', their first experience of the club was probably during one of the first special events thrown by TR or possibly just on a regular night to catch Mark Oliver's residency there. And many of us know very well that the club is frequented by Asians which many clubbers have a beef with so again obviously setting a bad impression. What I don't understand is: would you go to Palazzo in Woodbridge and not expect to see ginos in that place?? Then why would someone go to Viva in Markham and not expect to see Asians?? It just doesn't make much sense really.. besides most of the Asians there just keep to themselves and some are even friendly. Mind your own business and nothing will happen. Atleast instead you don't have to worry about some gino hounding ur women attempting a body rub while you're off somewhere else jumping up and down from a track breakdown ! :p
Now there are a lot of open minded people who have tried to give the club a more impartial opinion. Some of the tribers have praised it but unfortunately some vow to never go there again.
In the end that club is gonna draw enough good talent that people will be forced to ante up and recognize it as a force to be reckoned with. And if they don't, it's their loss... (ie. PVD)
It's just too bad they didn't hit up parties where the TOTA's were in full effect.. I'm sure that would have changed their bad opinions about EVERYTHING .. :toothless |

actually most ravers first time at viva was one of the acension parties and thats when they decided never to go back
they gave it a second chance on NYE and were dissapointed again |

True. The thing is...those same owners are doing a new club, "Distrikt". I don't even know if it's open yet. It's the one right across from Plastique. Do a Search about it on here, there's a thread on it. (too bad the Sat night "djs" will be from z103, so no awesome trance with Mark O like before...) |
