Why Oh Why??!!

why won't names like jel ford, oxia, trevor rockliffe, marco lenzi, johan bacto, lars klein, funk d'void, the advent, hacker, miss kittin, kanzyani, lekebusch, der dritte raum! ever come to toronto??! why??!!
i know lekebusch and funk d'void were here already before and weren't really impressed with the scene here.. :disbelief: a lot of those dj's spin at aria, but some of them don't even wanna come down to toronto to spin a set... :( :confused:
i'm hearing rumours that beyer's in town in march...does any1 have any info about this??

The answer is simple... there are 2 reasons for that:
1. the TECHNO scene in Toronto is the smallest scene by far in the whole city.
2. Most of those names are unknown (due to the reason #1) and wouldn't create a decent enough of a turnaround for promoters to even bother bringing them in...
I hope that clarifies some things for you... learn to live with it. |

i really don't know how large/small the techno scene in TO really is.. but i notice that there are more techno posts in the Tribe.ca board than Trance.. i wonder if that's cuz all the trance fans post here lol.. :p |

it's also cuz promotors know which dj to bring into town in order to jack up the ticket prices and fill up the dancefloor...
there are so many trance parties with commercial dj's (not all) now... why don't some of the promotors bring some of the dj's i named like.. jel ford, funk d'void, oxia trevor rockliffe.. this are some great english/french producers and dj's spinning groovy funky tekkno tunes...
it's true that 83.932% of the ppl here have never even heard of these techno stars, and it is for this reason why they should come in town - smtn differnt, good, but new..
what u think? ;) |

I was in mtl for NY @ aria - one of the nicest clubs i've ever been to..
i was supposed to go and hear my neighbors umek and kanzyani, but since i know they're coming into town i won't be making the trip to mtl.. but the sound/light/atmosphere at aria would not even match ANY club here in toronto..:cool: |

| if for some reason clarke does not come to toronto - i'm coming to aria to hear barbara spin again.. and FINALLY, yes FINALLY hear the master.. :p |

So move to Montreal then? I mean it only makes sense. If all the clubs here suck ass, just go there. :D I'm sure Aria's decent. |

He came here in 2002... pretty sure he came to Turbo. |

Well, that's exactly why they DON'T bring those DJs to town... since the scene in Toronto is such that it doesn't welcome something unknown that easily... the only way those DJs are gonna end up playing here is if one of these respected promotional companies books them. And I believe Funk D'Void were here for one of the Smirnoff Experience parties a while ago. |
