Should The Guvernment lower capacity/raise ticket price?!? (pg. 2)

No.
I need an Option 3: Reduce the amount of people they let in for crazy nights and keep the cover the SAME!
Reducing it to 80%? Naw. Just reducing their capacity to a regular 100% would be nice. Instead of 120% :whip: |

here's my question.. is it really necessary to pack the place like a sardine can just for the club to make a profit? Couldn't they still make enough money by saying have it 80% full? If they can, then like LKD said, it's pure greed..
but hey you know what, remember that place is an accident waiting to happen. if someone dies or is seriously injured, i won't be surprised to see a huge lawsuit against them. |

They do that because it is Legal. I don't know how. But as stated, it is an accident waiting to happen. Can you say "fire hazard"? If that place caught on fire it would be like that Club in Quay city (sp?) In the philipines where over half the ppl in teh club dies becasue of the fact it was so crowded that ppl could not get tot he fire exit in time. |

Well I think most of us have caught onto the fact that the Guvernment's ramming policies are due to greed.
So why do we even talk about it? They don't give a .
I'm sure that 99% of all people on TA think that the Guv needs to implement some changes. Unfortunately, 99% of TA is not even 1% of the Guv's regular crowd, and they know that. Their regular crowd is happy with the place being crammed because they don't care much about the music anyway, and more people slightly increases their chances of picking up.
It's never going to change. The good news is that there are other clubs out there (like Viva) that do seem to care. Support them (I know you all do anyway). |

no kidding, I've been to Guv a zillion times and I wouldn't even know where the closest fire exit is.
And about dropping down the capacity to 80%, there is absolutely no way Guv is going to do that and you know it. I think Guv is packed at 150% night in and night out, not 100%. It's just sickening that a club can do that to it's patrons. :whip:
I haven't been back to Guv in months now so I'm not sure how things are now though. |

| I'm with Durafei. I go there maybe once every three months, I think I can handle the crowds for one night. I have been to enough parties to be able to deal with it. I know that it is annoying to not have room to dance but that only happens for a specific persiod of time like between 3 and 5 and the rest is not that horrible. |

Its not just the guvernment. So many clubs pack it beyond capacity. The 'official' capacity of the guvernment is only 1400 isnt it? And I am sure they have at least double that on some occasions. The fire marshals HAVE to be bought. Because it is such a blatant violation. Its going to take a huge accident before something is changed. But whoever pointed out that they make all their money off alcohol sales is probably right.
Quick question though. Which one has the phazon system, the guvernment or kool house? |

true but thats the time period when the guest dj is on, when the music is at a climax and when you most want to dance. But its a valid point none the less. |

I am one of many who would much rather spend $20 to go to a party where i actually have room to dance, rather than be crammed and just stand and listen. My idea? - cut down capacity to 80% and double ticket price to $20. What do you guys think? |
Do you know that people in England pay 20 pounds ($50) to see an act (mind you, the acts are usually amazing)?!?!?
I would rather pay $50 to $70 to see an act rather than have it be packed.
Guv - take my advice, raise the price to $50 per act and don't jam the place. |

I think the best solution would be to simply move Guvernment to Kool House. Even during Tiesto, it wasn't overpacked at all, that's how big it is. |
I always get confused (becuase I'm usually in the orange room), but the place Tiesto was in was perfect. They should have had Corsten there.
Corsten (in whatever area he was in) was WAY too packed, and was a waste of my time, even though I had B&H goldlounge access.
The last Tiesto venue was fine - considering the crowd size - but if it's like Corsten - that would be horrible. |
