Talla 2XLC Review

another great night. Enjoy the Silence x 2. Got there at midnite, I was impressed with Gaafar El Mallah, great melodic trance. Played Enjoy the Silence, and some Sasha & Digweed tracks. Talla 2XLC followed with some good tracks, but I felt he fell off a little. Was kinda like a rollercoaster ride, ups and downs. But the last hour or so (maybe longer) was all up. Played some great stuff, finished with Can You Feel the Silence. Of course he had to play Flash, as predicted, but I loved Digital Blonde - Mooga. Victor Dinaire then played an awesome set, although he did play some hard house for the Factory/Exit crowd which was somewhat present. Till the end the crowd stayed strong. Was great to see the TA crew, and great to meet ya Lisa. I'm off to bed now.
Next is Tues at Filter 14 for Sean Cuisick/Jimmy Van M, then PVD!!!

How much LOVE can I fit into this post?? I had SUCH an awesome time. Gaaf was definitely impressive for his mixing alone and he had a nice tracklist on top of that. I remember hearing James Holden-Nothing and that really got me hooked on his set. Daniela and I arrived around midnight, so I guess I missed a bit.

The usual TAs were out including Daniela, John, Tom, Brian, Isaac, Jayme, not-so-usual Gregor aka LORD OF THE DANCE!, etc. Special Guests: OVERSEAS and KILNGKLANG!! Actually, I did meet a few more but I had to give these guys special attention since they both played a huge part in my enjoyment of the night. (It was nice to meet wallflower and twilogoddess also - I know I met a couple more, forgive me for not remembering names) Most TAs were in the house when Talla hit the decks.......

What can I say about Talla?? That's the first time I heard such hardcore energetic music blaring out of Arc's Phazon and it was LOVELY! Talla dropped SOOO many songs I wanted to hear. To name a few; LONELINESS :D GTR - Mistral, The Prophet (I know you hate this Tom) Rapid Eye -Circa Forever ( a mix I didn't know) and he ended with CAN YOU FEEL THE SILENCE! I don't know about his mixing, seems like there were a few "incidents," but he kept me on the floor screaming and dancing. Best of all, I got to see the two German Schranzers bugging out Deutsch-style and that was a blast.

THEN Victor Dinaire came on and the beginning of his set just tore me to pieces. I think my favorites were Taub 2002 and Capetown-Pitstop and a certain pvd mix that got us all going:thepirate ....... But let me tell you, he was dropping hard-hitting beats like nobody's business. It was full force from jump. In fact, by the end of his set I couldn't keep up with the hardcore SF/Exit crowd and I was a bit worn out. I finally got to meet Vic's girlfriend, Lexie, who is such a sweetheart and an absolutely wonderful person.

I know I am rambling here....but from start to finish the DJ's were great and I am so damn FLOORED by it all. There is nothing better than a party with TAs. You guys are awesome!!

One more thing: Alex Gold and Agnelli& Nelson - Hudson St (New York Mix)

I had such a great time and it was great to meet you all- special thanks to sunshine and tranceyguy! tranceyguy thank you so much for helping me find my car- sunshine for the company and great conversation on the way back! if it had not have been for you two i seriously would still be driving around the city looking for some bridge to get on (look kids big ben parliament). i kid you not i have lived in new york my entire life regualarly going by train or driving and still can not for the life of me get around without getting somewhat lost! i think my longest recorded time of driving around the city in circles lost was 2-3 hours.

anyways it was a great nite i enjoyed meeting you all unfortunatly i got there a bit late (yes i was lost) but i loved it and had a great time- 5 more days till pvd!

and greg thank you so much for being the first ever TA i met and bringing your cell so that i could text you and help me out and just being so nice!...off to sleep as i have been up for almost a full day!

i look forward to meeting more of you!!!

tune of the night was Proceed - played 3 times
Talla played it twice
Victor played it once - someone (I believe it was Lunasea) told me that this was after he asked whether Talla had already played it

IMO Victor's mixing was much better than Talla's
At least twice Talla let a song run out, and he just started the next one cold. Many times, something didn't feel quite right about the flow from one song to the next, but things did get better in the last hour.

Victor played quite hard for an hour and a half - I thought it was probably for the Factory heads. Interestingly, the floor cleared out quickly after he brought the trance back, with Wizardry
But still a good amount of people left at the end.
I believe a new record was set for closing time on an Arc trance night, that time being 8:00 AM.

hahaha, this is so funny... it was a great night... it was almost like a pre-PvD-party for me.. hmm.. and i didn't really like talla's set all that much at all.. i had waaaay more fun during gaaf and vic's set than i did at talla... oh man!!! gaaf was SO quality.. i was flipping my when he played james holden - nothin [93 returning mix] and enjoy the silence then overlayed sattva - echoes of silence [way out west remix]= CHOOON!!!! it was so amazing, i danced/whistled my ass off, i have no voice left!!

i was expecting more TAs to come out but i know how it is with PvD in a few days and all.. must conserve energy!!! i'm burnin the candle at both ends fo sho hehe..

the moment: when vic dropped pvd mix of thrillseekers - synaesthesia......... oh yes, i diEd f0xstyle!!! :wtf: :toothless

always awesome seeing you guys.. bri, john (michelle Rules!!!!!), tom, greg0r, brian, isaac, bustahighms, dan, etc.. oh yea and finally i met Andreas/Overseas and KlingKlang/Lisa!!!!! you guys rule (and thanx andreas for going crazy with me during synaesthesia.. woo!! if pvd drops it, i'm finding you again hehehe! )

dan/wallflour: we're so going for breakfast next time we club! :haha:

oh oh !! and when talla played soy soy soy soy soy soy sauce sauce sauce sauce sauce sauce sauce!! that was cool.. i guess from the middle of his set and on, it got cheesy but i appreciated Proceed, Soy Sauce :stongue and Loneliness :happy2:

i now have to get my arse back to RI before the storm hits.. not like i'm gonna have school anyways :tongue3 hehe, woo!! i love blizzards!! (as long as it clears up in time for pvd!!)
