| the night was fantastic. mark oliver played a good opening set, once again proving how versatile he is on the decks. he really primed the crowd for mr. danny howells. his set was explosive. i loved his track selection. he mixed well between progressive and techy house. it was all banging. his transitions were excellent. it all flowed together nicely. the crowd was good and friendly if a little overcrowded. i had a great time and couldn't stop dancing. i recognized a few tracks but if someone has a tracklisting if they could post it that would be great. overall i give the party a 9. |

Danny delivered!!! Oh man did he ever deliver.
Got there around 11:00, not a long wait in line.....but it sure was packed when we got there. From what i heard of Oliver's set i really enjoyed. Didnt sound as trancy as the last time i heard him spin, and it was a perfect opening for what we were about to hear. Around 12 or so ran into Tatgirl and i forget who else at the time. Anyways, had the TA meetup in the Acid Lounge met a few TA's and started to catch a nice buzzzzzzzz. Chilled out there for a bit, had a group orgy, watched Hordash and Sooper makeout, you know, the usual. The clock hit 1:30, and i was anxious to get out there for the opening of Danny's set. Danny came on and the roof was blown off (well, not right away). He started off like i thought he would, a little slower and nothing too spectacular. About 45 minutes into his set he threw in what seemed like an old 70's funk song with almost know bassline, seemed kind of outta place until out of nowhere kicked in a huge bassline (expect this versatility only from Danny). Would love to name a few tracks for those who are interested in a tracklist, but like many others i could only recognize 5 tracks, tops. Place went nuts when he threw in "Nobody Listens To Techno", and if im not mistakened, confetti dropped and the lights came on after the buildup (which was complete madness!!!) Finished off his set around 6 im pretty sure, and overall, i cant ever remember hearing a set with such flow. The Guv crowd i found not too bad, of course the whistle blowers, groups of 40 year old asian women on crack, and a few shirtless steroid boys still existed, but not as many as usual. Ran into Tatgirl after the hour long wait for coatcheck, then me and my friends were on our way to the zone. Holy , packed the moment we stepped foot in there. Addy was bumping his usual, extremely dirty and he had me flying once again. Say what you want about this club, but dont even start with me with the music! Definately the best resident DJ's in Toronto, PERIOD!! Time just flew there, and b4 we knew it it was 4 o'clock. Ran to my car faster than Ben Johnson on steroids, and were just in time for the 4:20 blaze. Done. |
