Talla 2xlc: Terrible Mixing?

I love and respect Talla 2XLC as a producer, and a great track selector.
But in his Talla 2XLC @ 05-19-2001 Hessentag in Dietzenbach set (this was released on TA long time ago), the transitions are very quick and sometimes not really beat matched. Is this just a bad set for him, or is Talla living off of his production reputation alone? |

| Agreed. His mixing skills are terrible. I don't get how he gets by with some of his transitions. |

Talla's mixing skills are indeed quite average.
It seems as if there are some DJs like him who don't have to know how to mix - Anyway, they are well-known and very popular. :conf: I love his track choice, but I don't mind his mixing. ;) |

| I guess he's just getting old,after doing Techno Club for over 10 years,while being busy in the studio at the same time.I've seen this happen to many djs(Oakenfold and Tiesto comes to mind.Great tunes,bad mixing). When you are as busy as Talla was(and still is) with producing/promoting, I guess your mixing skills get kinda rusty over time. The result is clearly visible in Talla's latest sets:low technical level, even tho he plays some wicked tracks. My advice to him and all other djs suffering from this: go back to your studio and start rehearsing again. I'm sure your mixing skills will be back to the level they were after a while. |

| He sometimes rushes it but to be honest I kind of like faster transitions with harder styles of music. Maybe it's just me... :conf: |

I know what your saying...alot of hardhouse DJs and hardtrance DJs cut quick, but Talla doesn't do that. His phrases are off and his transitions are very obvious.
Awesome track selection though. |

| never heard him live, but the last set i heard from him Talla 2XLC - Global DJ Broadcast (03-02-03) his mixing seems ok. And i love his trance energy set to. |

| iv never heard him live, but ive heard a couple of his livesets on mp3 and theyre not that bad. but then again it's different, heh i dunno.. i gotta see him live i guess :D |
