Mauro is superb! I've never seen him and not enjoyed myself (except maybe Gatecrasher NEC April 2000 but I was a bit worse for wear then anyway).
His 6 Hour sets at Gatecrasher are ledgendary and his set at the Radio Dance Party in Sheffield last year was one of the best clubbing experiences I've ever had. Bangkok in the pouring rain.....:toothless :toothless
All those complaining that he's isn't a techno DJ;
SHUT UP!! HE'S NEVER CLAIMED HE IS!! It's a completly stupid point :D Might as well say "I hate Digweed, he doesn't play real Drum n Bass". If you don't like Picotto's style fair enough, but he's wicked at what he does. |

I think spad said that MAURO PICOTTO has never claimed to be a techno dj, NOT that spad claimed mauro wasn't a techno dj (if that makes sense).
Why don't you do a bit of research before opening your arsehole and talking.
If you read recent interviews with Mauro picotto, then you would know what he said regarding techno. from the top 100 dj poll.
He said " I play all different styles of music at the moment I am playing a lot of techno just now because the quality is very high".
Nowhere in there does it say I am a techno dj.
Mauro picotto is very versatile dj, who involves many aspects of dance music in his sets, including house, trance, hard trance, floaty techno, and harder techno. Hence the reason his mixing style is different from dj's such as dave "I am Techno" clarke or adam beyer. |

As far as I' can see Mauro picotto still continues to sell out near every gig he plays, and all because he sucks at playing techno. Dear oh Dear, what is going on. He doesn't suck at playing techno, he just doesn't play it the way you want him to. He plays techno in a differnt style cos half the time he's mixing it with trance house etc.
This applies to one danish person, namely verminator, as far as every one else goes your all pretty decent folk. |
