new counsellor wants to shut down afterhours scene

apparantly a new counsellor wants to stop new afterhours clubs from opening and make the 3 that exist close at around 3am. The bill will be voted on on March 28th. There ia a petition on this site:

http://ravemontreal.com

here is the text of the e-mail I received for more info:

To paraphrase Dante and several politicians that followed him, "The hottest part of hell is reserved for those who see wrongdoing and stand by doing nothing."

The 'complaining neighbors' made their voices heard. We should do likewise. That petition looks like a good start...

I know some of you younger guys are gonna hate me for saying this but
i kinda wish that afterhours went from 9pm to 3am instead of running into the morning. Having the headliner hit the decks at 11 pm or midnight would be so sweet. I've been doing this for a long time and getting started at 2-4am kills me but i still do it, less often then before though

wouldnt really be an afterhours then would it.. I really dont care when they put on the main djs, but I REALLY hate how Ottawa and Toronto close down at 2 am. There should be fun for all hours of the day.

Hey Ottawa closed at 6AM for Joof? They don't need to close earlier, they usually do because people aren't up for it
