Trancey Ash, 1 gig is the ter, and you're going to go over that so damn quickly it's not funny. Right now, unless you get one of the unlimited download plans, broadband in Australia is . I downloaded 3.7gig last month on 56k and if i was offered Telstras 3gig/month plan i'd throw it back, for its a ing rip off.

I have said sumfin b4 about my ISP. I have been with them since I moved to Melb and have been quite satisfied.

They have had BB for about a year now. last year an unlimited 256/64 line cost 120/mth. This year that has been reduced to 80/mth which is what I am getting in a few months.

Tec support is great. I have been on unlimited 56K for the past 3yrs and on a normal month do a tad over 2Gb. C'MON MY DSL CONNECTION !!

go here to check them out www.ains.net.au/

2C worth

currently with internode.. on their flatrate plan (512/128) price is similar to my previous plan 3gb Telstra (the days of Freedom plan were a joy)

i have no complaints.. i downloaded 60gb in first month, next month 30gb .. i get what i want and their are no excess charges (i paid a fortune for going over Telstra limits :( )

cheers

tranceilvania.. be aware that flatrate uses a system whereby the more you download the slower your speeds become..

I only get 425 mb a month now.... which is pretty harsh, since on my connection i can d/l that in in a few mins i have to slow my net connection down cos otherwise downloading takes takes to much harddrive speed.... I think this is one of the fastest connections in australia though especially for local traffic, directly connected to AARNET backbone through big ass fiber and then switched with only about 20 machines per substation (i think). It's damn tasty but i wish they hadn't capped me... I loved it before, I LOVED IT! :-( I guess the gig per day thing kinda killed it. I think it might have been me listening to >128kb/s mp3 net radio contantly...

yeah well you guys are lucky im unable to get neither cable nor adsl.. theres no cable in my area, and i cant get adsl because we're behind a new rim exchange service running pair gain to the house, no copper wire in sight..
