Supposedly every geeky term originated from Counter-Strike... eg. w00t! 1337! owned! pwn! And of course ph33r me originated from Unreal Tournament. Respect to online gaming! :) |

| if you are super 31337 you will also know the term uNF uNF. it is similair to woot, yet different in the sense of having a manly action connected to the victory. z0r may be appended to almost any of these words for extra flavor. |

I remember reading a feature article on the origins of "w00t" once. It was apparently originated from the MMORPG game "Everquest". If I remember correctly, players would usually say w00t when they've found some treasure, reason being:
1. The word "Loot" means treasure.
2. "WOOO HOOO!!!!" - Your reaction in finding so.
3. - 1. + 2. = W00T!
The PC magazine actually didecated ONE WHOLE page to it... Some people have TOO much time on there hands! Wish I was one of them hehe |
