If you're a top DJ/producer (e.g. Paul van Dyk, Tiësto, Ferry Corsten, Armin van Buuren, Marco V etc.) and you see/hear your music being played on tv (e.g. MTV, but also other stations), you'll probably like it. Your music is being promoted and more and more people will discover it.

It's becoming a whole different story when you're a DJ/producer and you're producing just for the money (like all the BoozyWoozy's amongst us :mad:. But as long as your productions are quality than there's no problem in showing it on tv I think.

:::Puts on flame suit::: :D

thats beacuse you're in the netherlands, it's differnt than in the US. MTV in the netherlands use to be good, but from what I hear them and the TMF has turned to recently

Yeah I know, that's true. MTV here is way different than the US. Also TMF is the absolute standard of right now. It used to be kinda good, but right now it is utter crap. MTV is alot better. They are broadcasting So 90's every night between 2300 - 2330 :) Very cool to see/hear all the classics I used to listen to. Also MTV Cribs and The Osbournes are very cool. They used to have The DJ's though (don't know where it is now) and the Dance Floor Chart (can be nice sometimes).

While I was watching some sports highlites stoned one night, I realized that when they flash the scores at the end of the highlites, they have a lot of trance/electronica playing in the background. It's funny how trance is not big in the North American culture but you hear it just about anywhere except TV and radio.

P. Diddy was at Space last summer when Pete Tong did his live EM from there in August. He went into the DJ booth, and even started playing a sax to one of the songs!!! Here's a link of the video, great stuff....:haha:

i am sick of how music television plays so little music. they are always showing dumb ass shows like sorority life, becoming, ect. the only decent show is the osbornes. other than that mtv blows (esp in the states where the only "trance" they do end up playing is kylie minogue, dj sammy, ect.).

so true!!!....however, i do not think trance will go to such mainstream levels, as to see trance videos dominating "trl", for instance...i do not think the typical american consumer has the "ear" for this music, nor the patience to enjoy it...no trance on mtv, because some things are meant to stay sacred...:)

Pop cheese trance is diff from the trance we listen to as the dude out of solar stone said. and he is right. Can u imagine MTV playing harmonic minor? it would give all the kiddies nightmares!

Yea that was one thing that disappointed me is how MTv plays so little music. Thats why they made MTV2 but i dont listen to rock so it rarely is watchable in my opinion.

Holy cow, that's so awesome! Hahaha, great stuff :D Yeah, MTV is kinda lame now-a-days... probably with trance currently is that a good majority of the people that MTV targets (adolescent teen, to young adult, in the 14-25 range) is very ignorant when it comes to electronic music (still). Go around a college campus and ask if they know what trance is... you'll usually just get... "duhh... is that a kind of techno?" Unless you come to Boston University and they'll say that I've preached about the purity of trance :)
