I've judged about half of the ones that are uploaded...I'll get to more this weekend...

I'm almost done judging the mixes, will probably be done this weekend.
For those DJs that are interested, I'll be happy to post the comments I made while listening to your mixes. Might be fun to see what others (like me) thought of your mix, if you're interested in improving your style for example.
I'll send my point summaries to mr_sick when I'm done. |

very good idea, because i learned a lot more with the latest COmpetition than i 1 year Mixing, so i hope to lear something more.

yeah i also wouldnt mind hearing what you have to say about my mix. i wanna try and perfect this mp3 mixing :) |

Most definately. I know I didn't do the most planning I could personally, so my mix wasn't the best it could've been, but I'd love to hear some feedback. |

I for one would not have any problems allowing people to download the sets once the judges are finished, though.

When the results are published you can share them there is no problem about that :toothless |

put it in ogg vorbis codec, in 90 kbps you still have a very good quality but you win a bit more than half the file.
if you have some question for the ogg encoding pm mail me or mail me.

I won't be converting the mixes from MP3 to another format.
I'm a big fan of the Ogg, but I don't think it's a good idea if I start converting things to a different format just to save some bandwith.
The good news is that the server will get a line upgrade on Friday, so by the time we'll open up the FTP for downloads we should have 3 times more bandwith. Yay :)
Still, if Toast could chip in we'd probably be able to handle the downloads with just these two FTP servers. Hopefully ;) |

In the past, i have not allowed people to just download mixes from my server. I have a fear that my ISP will boot me off if the bandwidth usage goes too high. I'll think about letting just one person at a time download, but i usually like to archive the mixes to cd and kill the directory to save space :)
I do maintain cd archives of all the contests i've hosted...so if anyone wants a particular mix, i could make them available.
The other judges can feel free to pass around what they have. If i think i can help out with distribution without getting caught, i'll let you all know :)
