Yah, been there on Mar 1. Kinda felt the same thing as Tordan - while paying $12 you seel this dark room where 20 freaks are shaking buns to some gothcore. But on the second floor the music was awesome! If you're tired of seeing guv-like meat heads and barbies, feel like being in a bit of a different crowd, then this is the place to go.
Anyone going on Apr 5? There going to be psytrance/goa playing on both floors this time, no dark stuff accept for clothes and sexy makup on chicks, meow :whip: |

Yah, all true! I've been to Reverb twice for the past month - and they din't search me at all on neither occation. Could have brought in a bottle of vodka with me, which I'll highly consider next time :D

I was only joking around: yeah, I go to Darkrave; yeah, I'm sort of goth (I guess); no, I'm not a hoochie(wtf - never been called a name in my life {thanks for that}); no, I don't go to Darkrave to have sex or look for it; no, I haven't seen sex there (sorry). Maybe you should stay at the Guv and keep on putting down people ie TAs, hoochie and fags. Darkrave is not the space for you.

| I agree with you rabbitjoker but in the past Darkrave had live music acts but because the crowd is so mixed it really hard for promotors to know what types of bands work - gothy dance, trance, psytrance ???plus the cost would go past the usual $12. Generally speaking I don't think the regular Darkrave crowd is willing to pay much more since most of the Queen Street W clubs are free to get into and that's what we are used to. When they had a DarkRave at Opera House a few months ago ('cause they lost their booze licence for serving all night at Big Bip) the turn out wasn't great - then they had to pay the bands (ouch!) |

More people would go for Astral - way too many for Reverb. I tend to associate darkrave with the local scene (no big names, not in a big venue), and thats totally cool!

Ahh now I get it. So the idea is to remain sensitive, virgin, and pure - but to camouflage it with leather, PVC, bondage wear, black makeup, "big fat" commando boots, gorgeous/slutty clothes etc. Like beauty and the beast, eh? :whip: That could be quite misleading.
