What a mad night...
First of all.. Philby, I really feal for u, earlier that morning I was fortunate enough to admire Armins signatures on both those covers and all I could do is look in complete envy... Mate I hope u get those back.
Now my night started not to well either.. Euphorica@Aus (Paulie) picked me up and we went to the meet up at Y&H, just to find that we can't get in cos Paul's left his ID at home... so yes, we drove home, and on the way also picked up Philby.
After finding a park we walked to Melb park only to find someone getting the crap beaten out of them near the tickets booth, and that was followed by Paulie buying a fake ticket... :mad: .. like not happy JAN!! But we got in alright, so it wasn't so bad.
Walked into the GU arena... man what a set up.. sound, lighting, it was just awesome.. NuBreed was playing, not really my piece of cake, so we left and walked around a bit. At this stage there was a line to get onto the godskitchen dancefloor... and we couldn't be stuffed lineing up, so we got some food and went and sat in the GU arena and just soked up the atmosphere... And yes, Dave Seaman was like an angel sent from heven. What a mad progressive set. and when the lasers came on everyone went NUTS. :crazy:
Alright, the something real strange happened... Paul met up with this girl who was a friend he knew from work... and they hugged and chatted... then i was writing a msg on my phone, .. my god.. who needs the M.I.L.F. hunter when there's Paul... i look up and they were kissing.. and i was like.. what the hells going on ...:conf: :conf: so i left them to it... sorry guys, i still don't get it.. ur going to have to go ask Paul abt this..
Then we tried our luck again at the GK arena... and this time they had locked the outer doors. were we pissed off... we payed so much just to go see armin, and we couldn't even get in... I full on felt like rioting, and i'm sure that's what would have happened if they didn't let us in in the end.
But for the moment we had to be content with being locked out. So we went and saw "the father of house" to put it in Paul's words. Frankie Knuckles was smooth.. some of the best bass mixing i've ever heard... it was like there was one beat, then it didn't change.. it morphed into anoter... it was magic..
After abt 20 mins of listening to frankies smooth tunes we made a decision to go watch Sander K... what did we get.. the end of Junkie XL's set.. boy was he hyped.. and wtf was he wearing? not a bad set at all. The Sander came on... great mixing, but his tracks were kind of dark, mysterious and very progressive, again not my piece of cake.
FINALLY we got word the GK was open.. so we made our was into the arena an hour into armins set.. dear god... what a set it was.. track selection was awesome... and yes I HAVE PICTURE!!!!! from my digital camera.. i just have to find somewhere to host them so i can post them... and suggestions guys??
after this set i was buggered.. and after another meet up between paul and the mystery woman we drove phil and jolene to Zos and went home ourselves....
Overall an awesome night, one which i'll remember for a long time to come.
And guys wouldn't u agree that like 2 in 3 girls were absolutely stunning?? like really... and the guys with their tops off was just totally gay....

Ok here is my experience, Arrived there like eightish (i'll pass the details) Wondered around with my mate and came across few more mates and headed for GK to catch up Nexus and Master Chaos. LEGENDS two local DJ's back to back playing some Awesome Tracks... Probably most of you avoided them as they were Ordinary Locals!!! I wish they had played the closing sets back to back instead of those WANKERS Tom Harding and Jason Midro who takes the cake really by playing DJ Sammy-Heaven towards the end (not the original but some Hardened Mix of it) at exactly 7 o'clock he run away from the decks as if ppl were chanting for encores and stuff. Not many ppl insisted that he should play more.
Highlights of the night, Dave Seaman was undoubtfully the best of the night, this guy rocked the place down literally. Absolutely AWESOME set but unfortunately headed to the Vodafone Arena to catch up with Armin halfway trough his set. Just to find the doors were locked:mad: And I was the Provakator on one of the doors (i think the middle one) for the uprising there:D finally got in at exactly at 2 when Armin just started and was wrapped up to see all the fellow TAs right center upfront. No crowd could stop me reaching there.:toothless where i got to meet few more TAs like Mikka, SQK, MasterYoda,Stamper, Inacoma and Hybrid Junkie I think I saw DjDowlz too:tongue2 but unfortunatly couldn't meet other guys from Perth and Sydney. I was hoping to go out and have a chat with most TA's without shouiting each others ears and actually hearing whats the others saying but everyone disappeared right after Armins set:conf: WTF??Then I lost James(renegade) after he entered Hardware arena (while I was filling up my water bottle outside) I went and found my mates we hanged around till 7 and took off from the joint....
Overall Armin didn't impress me much! I guess I was expecting him to be different somehow but well most of you guys enjoyed his set verymuch that whats counts. For me; its gonna be TIESTO in October
edit: Another highlight; Judge Jules didn't appear:haha: :haha: happy not to see that wanker:haha: :haha: then I realized this morning I was wearing a t-shirt with the letters JJS:crazy: on it. No wonder Mr Stamper was looking at me like that!!!:wtf: |

Paul missin out on the beginning of armin, but you were there for the best parts.
The GK arena being overpacked before armin (1:00 onwards), all I can say is BULL, you could swing your arms around in a circle down on the floor during pee wee wit, it may have been packed before him, but when I was in there, after breaking in, and the doors were chained shut, the GU arena had TWICE as many people easily. It was NOT overcrowded before armin...
Philby man, what can I say, I just hope everything turns out allright.
At the worst, e-mail armin, tell him what happened, you never know what he might do. Worth a try.
Two more things, Mikrop are you sure you didn't confuse 3 Fingers - Frozen February (Flake mix) with "for a devil" cos I don't remember hearing that. But then again that might've been played when I had to empty my bladder... came running back in though.
Loved "beyond the grave" when armin played it. Thought it might've been from the heart until philby set me straight, I don't think avb played from the heart, despite my frantic paper waving. He just gave his smile,his "maybe" shrug, and hand wave. |

Also big thanks out to everyone who made it a good night. Great meeting everyone, especially Hyper Dimension & Ballistic down from sydney, and Dowlz & Stamper from adelaide (even if I did call you guys by the wrong name, every.. single.. time :D
Great meeting philby, stips, inacoma, and euphorica.
Had a great night, and if Hyper Dimension, and whoever else got photos of the crew could put them up that'd be awesome.
One last thing, does anyone know what Nubreed's last track was? They said it was a remix by them of "a friend of theirs". Sounded kiinndda like bjork singing, but I really don't think it was.
Any ideas would be great. |

armin pwned me,he was just relentless, not 1 bad trak did he play!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
by the end of the nite i was so fkn buggered, from 3 hours of jumpin around like a moron, i walked away while phil was sayin somethin and just nodded my head hopin it was the rite thing todo :), i honestly felt like i was gunna fall over if i didnt keep moving, not to mention armin's set kept playing through my head, then i tried walkin out an emergency only exit, then spent another 10 mins wandering around hopin there was an exit nearby.

Armin's Supporting acts were pretty average imo.
getting kicked outta seaman's set, cause the dance floor was "full" of people standing round doing nothing
the warp brothers over-doing the treble and destroying my ears (lucky for them i recovered just b4 armin)
finding the water more expensive than every other drink.
and then there was the dikheds who kept walkin in front of me durin armin, and then just stood there until i managed to shove my way past em again.
the good bits:

when this guy tried to get a picture of armin with his hands in the air, but when he pulled his camera out, armin started playin with the equaliser, then when the guy walked away he started jumpin up and down again (this happened about 3-4 times in like 2 minutes)
when armin 1st walked on stage, pee wee ferris thought every1 was cheerin for him, then when he finished phil shouts out "go yourself pee wee" (or something to that effect)
meeting the TA's
ummm there were probably more good bits, but whenever i think of TT, everything gets drowned out by how much armin rocked the join
i mite be goin to both syd & melb PvD gigs, so i hope to see you all there......again |

I could be mistaken... I listened to for a devil last night... It doesn't sound like the track he played with "For an Angel" sample in it play that... Don't know about Frozen February... |

Tracklist: Is anyone abslutely certain that Epic Monolith wasnt played last nite, i swear when i went in about 3pm it was being played, but prolly wrong i cant pick tracks for and am proud of it

Firstly, it was fantastic to see all you TA's for the first time. It's so good to be around people who are so passionate about their trance music. It just makes the night, that much better.
On the whole, highlights were Nubreed who showed us their very distinct style of music, one word to describe them was groovy.
Only heard Dave Seaman for the last hour, and fark do I regret not getting their alot earlier. How awesome were the lasers, best I have ever seen at a party.
Had to wait over 40 mins to get into Armin. It would have been nice if the guards had informed us about what was going on with the locked doors much earlier. It would have eased my anxiety alot more.
It all turned out well in the end, as we entered just after 2, to the sounds of tears from the moon. Highlight of the night.
Although I had an awesome time, I think I preferred 2 tribes last year, just for the fact, that I missed so much more time on the dancefloor due to all those lockouts.
Fantastic also to see Steve play at Zos's recovery. It's amazing how the music you play can still drive me to dance, even after 11 hours at 2 tribes. I reckon the crowd there was almost as big as it was when armin played at Zos last year. Keep up the good work. |

It was good to meet the new ppl at the pub/lounge wateva u want to call it a
massive thumbs up to cameron and julian who came all the way from the city of churchs, u guys totally rock :p
Also to hyperdimension for turning up aswell, i think everyone forgot that he was coming down from sydeny :D
We got to see the end of nubreed and the start of sperm man, i got a sms from julian telling us that there was a huge wait to get into the GK arena and thought this im leaving 3 hours b4 armin even starts playing to line up, i was having anxiety attacks thinking i wouldnt get in :( but phil and i snuck in thru the breaks room and it was all sweet
Seen some of the warp brothers and i know i will get flammed here, but they weren't that bad
highlight- they dropped faithless- insomnia
lowlight- i went for the biggest stack, trying to be a smartass and jump over a whole row of chairs :p
During pee wee ferris, we were all sitting down picking on him, i was running around pulling down all the PvD posters on the walls, which were in phils bag, which is now..... well unknown :(

His set was absolutely amazing, the mixing was flawless and what i love is the crowd involvement, as he acknowledges the signs and fans in the crowd with a wave, smile or even the Armin pose,
and yea the top that u seen waving around was my old "AvB is God" top i seriously think everyone had a turn of holding it up and i reakon he loved it ;)
I got an sms from paul who was stuck outside wanting to know how it armin was and duncan told me to reply with an "ok" ahahaha then i got an abusive msg back coz paul knew it was more then just ok :D
