Briefly I can say that it was awesome, of course, but i expect the next to be better since I had to learn all the dos and donts.

Highlights:
--Oakie ripped it up, I was really impressed with his set - especially hearing the Third Earth at the end. Although no one appreciated it.
--Tiesto was great too. I was feeling the vibe there

--I caught a bunch of others Djs for short periods of time; Dave Seaman, Pete Tong, etc. Everyone was great but I definitely missed some people I wanted to see.

--WTf was the deal with the main stage getting closed off?
--WTf was the deal with PvD's cd skipping? I know PvD's the man, but that killed the whole thing. He was building this awesome vibe and that "error", technical difficulty, or whatever, just changed things. I felt bad.

I didn't see many TAs but I did run into Brent which was great and I saw Arty at S&D in the beginning.

All in all, a great experience for this first-timer. I will definitely go again. What a crazy crowd though! I could have sat and people watched all day. :haha: Then again, dancing on a hill covered with water bottles while listening to my fav Djs was the most fun of all.

** I missed Mauro and Sander and a few others.....so now you all tell me the deal. I shall now retire after 76 hours of being awake.:eyes:

unfortunately I missed over half of ultra due to circumstances beyond my control. I was a bit upset. However, I got there in time to see the end of Tiesto's set - I thought he was pretty banging. Much better than the last time I saw him live. After that, my friends and I finagled our way into the VIP section. I watched Underworld perform, and it was off the hook!!!!!!!!! Seeing Underworld made up for the crappy crappy afternoon I had. Then I watched about an hour of PVD. I agree with Brianna - the cd "error" totally killed his set.

I will be doing the entire week again next year. What a wonderful week! :D

Man I'm buying my ticket for WMC 2004 when they go on sale in August. I can't believe my own family screwed me over and didn't buy a plane ticket because I had a "good chance" to fly standby. Well look were that got me NOWHERE!!!!!!!!!! I'm sooooooo disappointed I was looking forward to being with Art, Bri, Brent and the rest of the crew. But :( I will have to wait till next year....

But I can promise you I will be going to D.C. and NYC and Miami this summer for sure packed with rekkids and energy :). See you guys soon.

Nice pics!! .. Ultra rokced!!
By the way, this is the review I posted on the FLorida-forum, you can go there and check other reviews.

here's mine..

Well, in means of meeting up with all fellow TA's @ the Food Court, it resulted that that didnt really work out as I would've like to. When I arrived I didnt know where was everyone so I just went in to Ultra @ around 12.(they didnt let me in with Back Bag WTF!!!!!1).A good thing though was that it seemed that they opened at 11, if not inbetween 11 and 11:30, cause there was really NO WAITING IN LINE!, that part was nice nice. Once I got in I went right into the Ultra"club exprerience"Dance Tent, where Matt Martinez was throwing all timers. THen walked and checked everything out, the setup looked great this year. Then, we went back to the Ultra tent once again, and saw The Scumbfrog- This guy is one crazy guy!!! He gave some funny looking ass faces!! lol!! funny to watch, he really pulled out a show, then John Graham came in, and saw part of that set.

Chilled for a while to save some energy (learned from past experience), and then headed to see whats up with the Ultra tent once again, it was Max Graham, saw the first part of his set, which was not bad at all, the crowd, the music and the rain,it poured so hard, after all, its MIAMI:-), it gave it a very nice feeling, the crowd was enjoying it. At 3:45 we headed to Hybrid to only see how bad they were live, (My opinion), bored me. So then I headed to see the last part of Christopher Lawrence, I mean, the guy really was playing some good ass energy trance!! very good stuff indeed, didnt expect that from him, great great great!!. Then it was THE STREETS, haa Wack, we just left to see Sasha & Digweed, it got paaaaaaacked!! Wasen't really into it in the beginning so me and friends went to eat, we sat though in a place where we could hear the set from them, and I really got into it, dont know who it was, digweed or sasha, but the music was great!!!!!... so we went down to be part of it for like 15 mins and then headed to see the man Oakenfold.
What else can I say, the guy showed that he can be the man when he wants. Then it was Tiesto's turn, really, I can't argue him not been the number one DJ, after reading so many bad reviews about him, seeing him for myself gave me my own opinion, the guy ROOOCCKKSS!,his set was arguably better then last years. It was sweet to see Oakenfold and Tiesto greet each other, two greatest DJ's giving such a warm hugh, someone took a picture of it!? It really is a worth pieace to have.
Since I was in a very good spot, I decided not to go anywhere, since I knew that returning for Underworld would be a pain in the arse!.. so I just went to get water for both Underworld and PvD, hehehe water is essential.

It was UNDERWORLD, they pulled out a great show, with all their best tracks, among them Two Months off and Born Slippy, it was just great.
What was the last track Played?!?! I loved it.
Then, it was the man, PVD!!!!! I mean, the guy was there to take the last drop of energy that there was in my body, and Im thinking in everyone else's body, it was just great, hearing one of my favorite tunes been played was just awesome.. what else can I say. The DVD that comes with the GLobal CD was been showed in the background, it fitted good with the set, memorable

So overall- The highlights were Oakenfold, PvD, Tiesto, Underworld!!! the rocked me so hard!
Didnt see lawrence for much but he was great also, so it was Sasha&Digweed, I would've loved to watch them!!

The sound setup was the best this year, it sounded clear!the music didnt get lost with the beats.

TA's! it was great seen you all again, and great to meet some others too. I which we would've been able to hang out more though. Overall, it was great!

- ULTRA ROCKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The sets, the DJ's and everything, soundsystem, set ups, time slots WERE GOOD ONCE FOR ALL!!!!, no waiting in lines.. just great!

Sucked for those that weren't able to see Underworld, Police closed the entry to the ampitheatre, they claimed it was packed.

Only complains I have is, no back bags, come on!

So for now, all we can do is prepare for ULTRA6!!!!! VI!!!!!!!

i second what alex said,... nice pics,.. you(melissa) seemed to be everywhere i was, that sucked i didnt get to meet you,...

Ultra was really kick ass although i got there later than i had wished,... anyway i got to see a lot of great people,... Hybrid, Digweed, Sasha, Oakenfold, Tiesto, Underworld, Pete Tong, Dave Seaman, Danny Howells, and lucked out by getting into the main stage just in time to see PvD, b/c 6hrs the night before wasn't enough :D, im still kicking myself for missing Picotto :(... the whole WMC is such a wonderful event but i wish they would make it 2 weeks and have everybody have mandatory rest days,... like odd days shows, even days are required rest,... b/c sleep is hard to come by while one is down there,... whatever, i maded it and i only saw a very few TA's during ultra but at PvD at Space i think there were like 10~15 of us,... nice to see Bri, John, Melissa (Partygalfl), Fred, Flo, Fox, Alex, and some others i cant remember their names,... but in all it was really fun and i cant wait to do it again,..
wallflower
I'll try to write more later on...

Overall it was simply an adrenaline rush, at least until the little main stage fiascos later in the night.
At least I got to catch PVD at 12:15 am - for some reason, the areas right outside the seats was not crowded, and lotsa people left before the end. So I was able to end up at the front row.

I don't think anyone mentioned Junkie XL's live performance. Great stuff! Not a big production like Rabbit in the Moon (who started late, and ran late, making me miss Underworld :whip: ), but I think that was the highlight of the event for me.

Also, about Dance Valley... sorry if threads have been made. Great stuff, but the main floor sound system sucked. Do you know about Don Diablo or Fausto? Some TA's here will have much to tell you about them.

And for the record, a dinner meetup did happen on Friday. But it was a small crowd. Where was everyone? Still sleeping from S&D or something? :)
Did the Saturday breakfast meetup happen?
butterfly
ok... my head is beginning to clear after way too much sleep last night and some coffee.

so i got there at 12ish and met up with a floridian girl from the arc board. we walked around a bit and got our bearings and then the madness began (kind of)...

i found tae and akko at the food court and we headed to the ultra club experience dance tent where i found the rest of kid nyce and crew. scum frog didn't come on on schedule but who ever started the day in there was pretty good. we wandered around a bit until donald glaude (perceeded by sum frog) and then i started dj hopping.
i forget the order but i saw hybrid, electric skychurch, some breaks :D, and i a bit of the streets. i was psyched for hybird. they were a bit mellow but i was greatful for it cause i knew what i was in for later. i got some killer pics of them. electric skychurch was a pleasant surprise - i am really glad i got to hear them. and i even liked the streets just because it was some nice variety.

after that craziness started to ensue inside my head so tae and akko (my angels!) went with me to sasha and digweed. the music was sublime and sasha was the absolute highlight for me, even though i couldn't actually move my body to dance (or stand up). then tom found and i was transfered into the hands of tom, john, and michelle (my other angels).

we stayed almost* till the end of sasha then went to tiesto. i never ever would have chosen to see him but truthfully, he was much better than i remembered. unfortunately i wasn't able to look at him (or stand up) but i thoroughly enjoyed his set (until he got trancey again). and he ended it with 643 which was sweet.

and then we got really confused about who we should go see. we found our way to danny howells to find that danny was *missing* but saeed and palash were spinning and they sounded as good as i ever heard them. at that point, control of my legs returned to me and we got down for a little bit. the vibe in that tent was fantastic.

then we wandered aroudn a bit again and ended up at dave seaman where we found some other friends. he sounded fantastic as well. at that point, i was completely exhausted so i started taking pics to stay awake until my battery died. i got some great laser pics.

then guy ornadel came on - he was good but i wanted something a but less intense so i wnadered off to the breaks tents. i had wanted to see underworld but there were too many people over there to even try so i didn't bother. i am glad i got to see themi n october because i am sure they were amazing. but i was too tired to deal with that kind of chaos at that point. i spent the remainder of the night in the florida breaks tent and the main breaks stage. i ended the night listening to the spacemen (kinda ambient breaks) while laying on my back on concrete.

in total, a fantasitc, exhasuting day. and worth every penny. it was great to meet some new poeple and run into some nyc reglars. :) can't wait to do it again.

I bet Underworld kicked ass :) It took a lot of effort for me to walk out and not go with you guys, but I had to :( Of course now I'm sad I missed it but I was in so much pain by that time.... Oh and hi Missy :D I didn't remember you from last time but this time I will :)

Caught the end of Hybrid's set - NIIIIICE :D

Got stuck watching S&D for 2 hours - UGH, but not *too* bad..

Caught the end of Oakie's set (was trying to avoid it like the plague) - hated every minute I saw him up there.. *puke*

Tiesto - wierd set, all over the place, but I still liked it.. His stage presense is enough to make me smile so it was all good :)

Oh and the announcer guy or whoever the he was HAS TO GO.. They didn't have him last year and he was ANNOYING.. I don't need to hear LETS GO MOTHA******S or MAKE SOME NOISE FOR THIS MOTHER******.. Ugh, someone needed to drag him off that stage..

Anyway, Ultra was ok this year for me, last year was a 100000 times better since I was in good health and it wasn't on the LAST day of the conference.. This year I was exhausted, in pain, and just plain worn out... But it still kicked ass and I'm very happy I went :D
