Where are the posts about it? I guess I'll have to start.
First, at the time the doors opened, the line was a mess. I heard it was better for people who came a later on.
The place opened late (around 11:30) because the afternoon party apparently ran late.
Those who came early had a chance to see Johan Gielen up close.
This was the order on the main stage:
Lucien Foort
Sister Bliss
Johan Gielen
Secret Cinema (doing some kind of live PA)
Michel de Hey
Marco V
The sound system on the main floor just sucked, and seemed to take some energy out of the sets.
I think I listened through the DJ's monitors (positioned behind the DJ) most of the time!
Up the stairs on the right side was a (hard?) trance room. I heard that Cor Fijneman played there, but I missed it. Fausto was last one, and Don Diablo played before him. They had people in that room going nuts!
There were at least 3 other rooms, but I'm not sure about their themes or musical styles or the DJ's who played there. There were too many great DJ's that I didn't see!
Tiesto was in attendance. I think I'm the only one there who didn't see him.
I'll let others pick it up from here... |

Okay, i just woke up from 20 hours of sleep. However, I am still delirious. So let me say this about Opium:
Yeah, the system sucked outside.....but all the rooms upstairs were awesome. I really liked Johan's set, even if I could barely hear it. I am not even sure who all the DJ's were but DJ Montana was great, I hung out there for a while. Of course, this is also where Tiesto was for a bit too. No, I did not molest him :D but of course I said hello and gave him a hug. I was impressed by how nice he is. Actually, all the DJs I ran into @ Opium were really cool. The crowd was very friendly.
Who were the live miami-house type people in one of the upstairs rooms? Some woman was singing?? They were fun!
I didn't stay for Marco V. I wasn't ready to hear him for the first time on the main floor. I don't think that system would have given me the true experience. Plus I had to go meet Amdmaxx & Leitline at Space for Sash and Digweed...where is that thread??
P.S. 11 dollar drinks??? I did not consume one alcoholic beverage at any event in Florida. I came back with money in my pocket and I remember everything!!!! w00t! |

OK, I guess I will post my review since I have now had enough sleep.
This was the BEST party of the WMC. I was supposed to be there at 9 pm for the DJ meet and greet, but I ran into PVD on the street and we chatted for about 25 minutes so I didnt get there until 9:30. I met up with my friends Shane and Koris and we went inside at around 9:35 for the press/dj party with open bar till 12. It was a who's who of DJs. We must have handed out 50 copies of Koris' new track and that wasn't even the best part. We met tons of people who knew the DTF stuff and Shane's stuff as well. The music in the 4 other rooms was good, but the main room sound was bad because the police forced them to shut down the 2 main stacks of speakers so all you heard was the monitors and 2 other speakers. Highlites for me other than getting completely trashed were Johan, Grand Marnier shots with Tiesto, Arny, Wilfred (blackhole), and Pete. Cor's set, Misja's set, Marco's set. Remy and Montana were awesome as well. Sister Bliss was a good start and Marco finished the night off with a great closing set before flying right back to Amsterdam. For those that didn't know who I was I was wearing a blue Global Gathering T-Shirt with bright orange letters. It was a great night and I have to thank Johan for the free ticket. I stumbled over to Space afterwards for Sasha & Digweed and that was great as well. The nigh was a total success and from my point of view, everyone had a good time... |

Well, this was definaly the place to be Thursday night. That Club is great, very "classy" Flatscreen Tv's, I saw 2 X-boxes chillin in there for anyone who wanted to play - just a really nice place overall. The only thing that sucked is that sound system outside, but there was nothing that could be done - I went right next to the speaker and just chilled and danced - It wasn't "that" bad. The great thing about the party was all the DJ's were just walking around hehe, it was funny to see Tiesto there too heh - it was so great. Every DJ I saw there I liked, especially Johan, Marco V, Astrid, Cor, Don Diablo. What made it the best was every DJ that I saw there I haven't before!! So that made it all the more fun. I got to take pictures with everyone too which is always a plus.
I also have great pictures of the venue and the DJ's - If anyone wants to host them or see them, PM me. But overall was a great time and definaly am glad that I chose to go there :D :D |

Well, I have to agree with those who said this was the best night of the whole event. The whole deal outside WAS indeed a mess and luckily we got in and not much of a hassle-just wait.
I agree with you sunshine....the sound outside was weak. I can't believe Marco V. was stuck out there...didn't allow anyone to appreciate his set. The best party was inside where Misja, Cor, DJ Montana, Astrid and such played. Hanging up there was the best night of all....Tiesto was up there with his crew, Misja was on the other side with his crew, Cor and the rest were lovin the crowd...it was awesome....good vibe. That's how it should be. I couldn't last due to lack of sleep, so unfortunately, we left during Marco V.
It was awesome and those Dutch are a trip! |

I Saw
Marco V
Johan Gielen
Sister Bliss/Faithless(part of the set)
Cor Fijneman
Don Diablo(part of the set)
Astrid (part of the set)
Mesja Helsloot (part of the set)
Opium Garden was a hole. All that great talent was wasted. They all would have sounded great anywhere else but that place was meant for flowers and not music. Marco V is known for his bassline. Opium took away all the bass speakers. All the sets were almost pure treble. The microphone messed up and hummed over half of Johan's set. The floor was wet & too slippery to dance on. Cor Fijneman and Don Diablo were awesome but spun in the lounge (Same space to dance as your local bar) When I heard Johan start to play Proceed I got real excited. It ended up sounding so bad that I just wanted to go home. |

| I thought the club was really cool but like Enigma said, defintiely not made for music/dancing. Outside it was hot as and sounded like . Inside was cooler and better sound but had narrow hallways to dance in, it was just frustrating. That coupled with the fact that I had to wait for almost an hour to get me and my friend in simply because we decided to meet girls there and not bring them with us, causing us to miss most of Johan's set (why was he playing so early anyway) put a damper on the night. I also found it hard to tell who was playing where and when. The club layout is good in theory but doesn't work so well when applied. At least I got my picture with Marco V... thanks for putting that security guard in his place Nathalie :D |

No one gave you a program (with schedules) when you entered the place?
I think some of the merchandise and water booths had copies as well.
I also saw one vendor selling cameras. |

Wallflower:
I don't know what happened at the entrance, but we had to deal with the worst. We had to leave my bookbag with water and sunblock, camera and snacks stored away in a hotel across the street. The people at the entrance were being such s. I don't know whjat was worse-that or the airport security. I was so pissed. We didnt get any programs either. I grabbed one off a booth later that day.
I didnt even see cameras at any booth:( ughhh!!!I love taking pictures....and I would've taken some nice shots too. sigh
Well, what to do now :/ |

Ranking in order of quality of performance
1. Don Diablo
2. Cor Fijneman
3. Misja Hesloot
4. Dj Astrid
5. Johan Gielen
6. ?
Marco V is not even ranked. It wasn't just the sound system or that he spun for 45 minutes, his set was horrible. The only quality song that I heard was ../ *mp3 song* . Clocks is old and the push songs he played are played out. I know that it wasn't all his fault. The club was amazing looking (the key word is looking) The sound was horrid due to the main floor having no walls and being outside. The best place to be in the club was the dancefloor/lounge upstairs. Don and cor were awsome! Ive really never seen a guy with as much energy as Diablo behind the decks. When acceleration peaked he threw his water bottle's in the air and sprayed all of us with it :). Misja wouldn't play Baracheta for me  ! |
