How many records do you have in frequent rotation?

Now I myself like to throw in records I haven't played in a while sometimes, but I am talking about your regular rotation.
I can honestly that I have about 18 at a time, and I am noticing that I start getting very bored of these 18 since I play them almost everyday, no matter how good the track is.
I will say though, that it is harder to have more records in your rotation at once because then you do not know your tracks as well as you should.
What do you think I should do?

uh, don't they always rotate?

:)

nah, just kidding. i have about 80 records, and only about 30 or so that i play. I get stuck not playing others cuz they are:

hard to mix in
not the same style as everything else
too fast, too slow
just plain ty
g-money
I always rotate my records.

I do rotate sertain other records, But at the moment i stick to around 30+ Tunes, cos the others are either to old, or to crap.
i am thinking to myself why the did i buy that tune about 2/3 years ago

what i try to do is when i get a load of new tunes i get to work making a mini-disc staight away. after numerous attempts and countless cups of tea when i finally have a mix i'm satisfied with i go on to my next batch of records (by that time i usually have a whole new load of tunes coming in). It works quite well actually, cos when you don't have enuff new tunes you just bring in some old classics that you still love.

By the way i still haven't made a mini disc i'm happy with yet.

I am in a different boat due to the fact that I play CDs. So, I have about 4 books (100) of CDs with me when I play. What sucks about that is I have trouble remembering what mixes well with what. I write it down sometimes, but I find myslef always throwing new tracks in the mix. The negative side to that is I have a hard time really LEARNING my tracks. That may be the only reason I would rather have vinyl.

So let's get this straight: You're complaining because you steal too much?

and if he doesnt have too much money to spend?!? i dont understand u guys, its not just if u wanna use techs or cdjs, there is money involved, and i belive most of us dont have it too much :) for less the cost of 1 tech i bought a deck a mixer and even one lame turntable, i dont have money to buy all the new vinyls i want, so what is the problem here?!? its not like the artists get to much of the vinyl, u can send the artist his 1 dollar he gets from one vinyl and burn the cd instead of financing his recording labels and specially the managers... also, in my case i need to travel two hours for the next record shop... so its not just "use vinyls", cos not every one have the money or incomes (like me) to cover the cost...

I have cdplayers too, and I know that it's not physically possible to buy every track on vinyl, even if you have every intention too. I'm not being hypocritical, I'm just shocked that someone is COMPLAINING because they steal too much music. Perhaps if he focused on the good tracks (you're telling me every track on those cd's are good?) he'd have enough money to buy what he wants on vinyl. I know he doesn't have turntables, but that's not the point. Everyone has a record player at home...
