Thanks for all the replys so far :)
As far as big city living Toronto sounds great. Guess the only thing that im sketchy on is that cold but hey Im supposed to be a Canadian right.
I would not say that it rains all the time here in Vancouver. Its just grey alot of the time. Also depends on where exactly you are to.
Some parts of the Vancouver area get three times as much rain as others. Just depends on how close you are to the mountains.
The thing that is different about rain here as aposed to england, from what I hear is that it falls strait down instead of from the side. They have much wind we have little.
But I would like to know whats it like in december and january. Is it that cold that you dont really do much cause its just a pain in the butt or is it just a dry cold that you can go out in no problem ?
Have to say that last i was in Toronto 3 years ago it was minus 10 one day and I froze my butt off. But then agian it was +20 two weeks later and did not rain the whole time I was there :D
That girl in the pic is a cutie but I would say that Van girls are nothing to special. I mean there are alot of hot ones but for the most part the hot ones that put out are just into Hip Hop. Otherwise they tend to be 25 plus in the house/dance scene.
Are there many girls there in their early twentys that are into dance music ? (buy this I mean clubs not partys, Im sure that there are lots of young young girls in the party scene)
So all in all what are the girls there like ? |

sometimes you'd have to be an absolute psycho to go out cause it's so cold, but i don't think that it's ever so cold that you are not physically able to go out.
only time that you wont be able to go out is when it snows like and the roads are all blocked.
but don't get me wrong.. it gets DAMN cold over here. there were some days this winter where it felt like -30 !!! |

B-Good, the best advice I think that anyone can give you is for you to come and visit for a little bit in person. A few days would be great, so that you can get a feel for the city.
That will matter more, in my opinion, than anything else. Coming here in person and experiencing TO for yourself is the best way to see if you like/hate it.

thats true to a certain extent..but when ur here for a few days, u live like a tourist/visitor and dont really get the nitty gritty bits of the life here...i say u spend a few months over here with a relative if possible so that u see how things go |

last night i went along with 2 other TAs to niagara falls and guess what i said as they one of them paid about 8 bucks for a basic combo..
"we take for granted that we live in TO, but in reality, we have the best of alot over there"
and its a fact..Niagara has nothin there if it werent for the falls and the casino and 10-20 big name hotels around each other
TO is a great city. but all im sayin is that ive heard Van city is as good, only good in a different way...think about it.. here in TO, if u were sent to take some "beautiful" pictures of the city, ud go to the CN tower ot surrounding sights..
ive seen sooooo many beautiful pictures and footage of Vancity its really great from teh looks of it |

Girls in Toronto (I might go so far as to say people in Toronto in general) are cold. Seriously. Obviously this doesn't apply to everyone, and it's different at parties when everyone is having a good time and half of the people are drunk or mashed or something, but just going around the city? Too many people go by the "don't talk to strangers" motto that their parents gave them when they were 6. The general unfriendliness of people is one of my biggest gripes about this place.
My basis for comparison is the vast number of people I've met (including people at Queen's and also TA's) who are not native to Canada. They are all so much more open than the locals. I'm not making this up, people originally from out-of-province or out-of-country are much nicer on average.
As for finding girls who 'put out' (i.e. whores)... go to the Plastique. I've never been in that place personally but my friends say it's basically just go in and grab ahold of something. |

I've recently moved to Toronto (From Calgary) and knowing people who live in, not to mention having been to Vancouver at least a few dozen times I can tell you that Vancouver and Toronto are POLAR opposites. The culture, mentality, weather, and general atmosphere are totally different..... ;)
My questions to you would be: What industry/profession are you currently in? Also, do you actually live in Vancouver (Or in the lower mainland)? Do you know anyone here? Got any money saved to move/do you have stuff to move? What would be your general motivation for moving here?
Just want to make sure you've really thought about it.... |

Ive been to TO a couple times in my life, last being 3 years ago.
So I do have a general feeling for what its like. Never had a chance to party there being 18 at the time. Im sure though that the party scene can only be better from here so no worries there.
I do have family there and thats one big reason why I was thinking TO.
I also like big city livin and it dont get much bigger than that in canada.
As far as people being cold not to worry people here are not warm either as compared to say alberta. I have also lived in Australia so I know what cold people can be like (no offence to the aussies love ya guys but you stick to your selves)
One big reason that Im thinking about this move is due to the fact that I got downsized at my work and lost a major part of my income.
I have been doing merchandising and was getting into sales.
My plans asfar as work would be to get a whatever job for like 15 and hour till I can get some money to start my own business.
My biggest reason for wanting to leave BC is due to the fact that im sick of it. Just not enough new stuff to explore and things just arnt happening around here in the last while.
Need an adventure ! |
