I know i know.....this party isnt as big as lastnight (fukhouse). And why wasnt Technoaddict at the party you ask.....basically cause i had one of the worst migraines OF ALL TIME lastnight. Anyways, this is my chance to at least keep my title......whos joinin me!?!? I know Skipper is! BTW, if you havent seen Misstress before.....do yourself a favour......COME SEE THIS CHICK!!!! At the moment, best canadian dj hands down. C U THERE >>>>>>>>>> :D

Again, I'm too tired to write a full review but I would say that tonight was the best I ever heard Barbara spin in Toronto. (and in Toronto, this is my fourth or fifth time hearing her.)
Review to come tomorrow when I am semi-coherent. (But where were the TAs?)

We bailed.
We were all so tired from the nite b4, and rubyriva & Drizzt81 passed out on my couch. We woke them up but they really needed the sleep, and quite frankly, I didn't want to shell out the $20-30 it would've cost me.
Even tho I really needed the sleep myself, I ended up going w/High Spirit to the Guv. There was plenty of space to dance due to the "sars" fear- some of the door staff were even wearing face masks. (I heard from Mark Oliver that 1/2 of the crowd at Viva the nite b4 was also wearing these masks!). But whatev! More room for me to dance! ;)
I had gone up to the booth to see Mark, and who was in there but Misstress Barbara herself. I asked how the party was, and she didn't seem so enthused about it: "I don't know what's wrong with Toronto" I asked how the sound was, and she said it sucked. I then explained that there's nothing wrong w/Toronto- its just that no one likes to go to parties at Turbo due to sound, and also mentioned the Fukhouse party the nite b4. (Skipper- glad she delivered the best set you've heard from her at least!).Overall, she was not in a good mood at all.
Mark played a GREAT set til about 5:30am, and then he lost me. Overall, I'm still glad I went to the Guv (tho my body clock hates me right about now). |

She seemed to be having a good time as she was playing, but indeed, the sound did suck (did the booth even have monitors?). I thought the crowd that was there was ok, maybe she was just wondering why it wasnt as busy as she thought it would be?
Jeff, did you go? I saw Brad/Bennetton, but no one else. You guys are wimps! :p |

HAHAHAHAHA, all I have to say to Misstress Barbara is that she should blame this on her management. They obviously paid very well for her since Turbo has tobacco sponsorship, but if it means a top DJ has to play in a ty room to a non-existent crowd, then the mgmt should NOT be putting their artists in this venue.
So, there you have it folks!
