Ok, the manager of Fridays is being a real pain in the ass about reservations. We get whatever space they have open at the time. Most likely the 4th floor because that where they put the larger groups. I'm aiming at being the 1st one there so I can get this thing somewhat organized. I'll try and let one of the closest workers to the front door know where to send Trance Addict people. If someone gets there before me let them know that about 30 more people are expected, and a large seating area is required.

This is not the 42nd street Fridays (which I didn't know existed) and it's not the big food establishment next to Penn Station (I'm still not sure what that is) |

Just got home from Exit... HOLY $#!+ what a night. Got to the meetup a bit late (10:15-ish) with a friend of mine and sat down with a few heads. Was just starting to make introductions and get to know some of the TAs when what happens? I turn around and see over my shoulder, none other than FERRY F***ING CORSTEN walking up to all of us. :eyespop: Yes, to all those who wondered, the man himself actually showed up. :eyes: He pulled up a chair and just started chatting with all of us. He was there for about an hour, hour and a half or so and then had to head back to the hotel before Exit.
Ferry has got to be one of the nicest, most down to earth people in the industry. He just sat down like a normal person and talked about whatever. We managed to get a group picture with him which I'm sure will be posted in no time. Before he left we were talking about tracks, and Sweetest Dreams, by Corderoy, came up. Ferry told us he just signed the track to Tsunami and is currently working on his own remix of it. He also said he was planning to play it later on. In the spirit of dropping bombs, he also told us he was going to play the Gouryella remix of that oh-so-famous Binary Finary choon that we all know and love.
And then actually hearing him play at Exit. Wow. Sure enough, he dropped Binary Finary and Corderoy, in addition to tons of bombs. His remix of Barber's Adagio for Strings, by William Orbit, was quite memorable. As was his closing with Out of the Blue. And of course Punk. Indigo. Murto, by Beatpushers. And just tons more I'm way too exhausted to think of right now. Not to mention Guy Ornadel who spun a decent set (great selection) with 3rd Earth and Tiesto's remix of Venus thrown in. And our very own Jason mixing a VERY solid set (I was Luke's friend, we talked by the bar downstairs for a bit) -- FLAWLESSLY mixed. Great job, br0. :)
Shouts to the few TAs I actually did get to meet, and of course, a HUGE shoutout to Ferry Corsten for being a good sport and showing up. And beating the living crap outta us. That's all from me for now.. Time to begin the recovery process in time for PvD next Friday! w00t! :happy2: |

Yeah I just got home, Im really tired so I'll make it quick. The meet was great with Ferry joining us. At Exit we waited in line for a hour in the cold windy rain, but it was all worth it. Sorry Jason didnt get to hear your set, but im sure it was the best. Guy was wonderful too. WoW Ferry was crazy, out of control. I remember I was dancing and saying oh oh out loud I forgot what was playing at the time. Thanks Ferry for meet up with us.
Also my car got broken into through the window, they took my favorite black leather jacket and my in-dash cd player. The one think Im pissed of is that they took my Basement Jaxx CD those .:whip: :whip: Other than that the night was unreal.
Thanks Ferry |

I talked to him about coming when I was over in the UK 3 weeks ago seeing him @ Heaven in London. I told him that since he came to a ta meet-up in Montreal he had to come to one in NYC. So he said sort it out and he would show up. Tom sorted out the restaurant and when he gave me the finalized info, I told Ferry. Glad he came thru for you guys. :) |
