Ugh, age diffrences

So I wake up today and I get a phone call from by best friend, and she had quite the story for me. The week before she met a guy at a club and hit it off, but never got past the bar. So yesterday she meets him again at the same place by chance. He was there with the hockey team he coached who were around 19-20. So my friend hears that he coaches guys who are older than she is (18) and starts wondering how old he is. They end up at his house, and talk for the rest of the night. She finds out that he's 31, has 3 kids, and has been divorced...but she still ends up hooking up with him.
Now I dont know how to feel, I'm not too crazy about the big age diffrence. But at the same time I dont want to seem like a bad friend and not support her for doing this. I'm more than a bit disgusted, but I dont know what to do.
Anyone have any advice, or similar experiences? |

How many times the Earth has revolved around the sun since you were born doesn't say anything about you as a person.

although I would love to be ing 18 year olds when I'm 31, I doubt I will because I'm just not screwed up like that |

| im a 20 year old guy and i have been with a 28 year old....i dont see any problem in age....well maybe if she was under 18 but other than that shes a adult its her choice... |

hehe I think she either wants to try older guys in bed, or she wants to be treated like a "lady", either ways she'll get over him in 2-3 weeks max ;)
and about the age doesn't matter thingy.
I can't understand how it doesn't matter,unless they are buddies?
say he is 30 and she is 18. when he was 18, trying to get laid at college, she was 3 learning to eat :eek:

would you think its ok for a 48yearold to date a 30year old? or a 60yearold to date a 42yearold? |

I don't think It's the same
at 30 or 42, she has already gone through the tricky part of life
(you know what I mean :p )
it's still a big gap even then in my opinion |

i disagree. if all you know about a person is their age, this sort of difference (18-30) would bother me. the number of revolutions around the sun you've lived through does indeed say something about a person. on the whole there are vast differences between 18 and 30 year olds. and of course you can bring the 'i have this friend who is 45 and less mature than my 14 yr old brother' argument but thats a fluke and bound to happen occasionally. statistically speaking, 30 year olds on average will have had more life experiences from which to draw their maturity and personality. an 18 year old can still be very much in the formative years of a sexual identity (exemplified by finding something intriguing in older people and hooking up with them).
vanilla, i would express to her whatever concern you feel. obviously you know her much better than any of us, and can better judge if she's just lashing out because of insecurities or if she feels totally comfortable with the stange psychology involved in hooking up with someone almost twice her age.
