HOLY! I just came back from my first live experience with Judge Jules. Wow. All I can say is that he is 50% better than i thought he would be-- and i am a Judge Jules fan. So that mean he really kicked ass. The show took place in Columbus, Ohio, and he got everyone to like EVERY single song he played. HOLY. I listen to his weekly BBC show at least 4-20 times per week n he played a lot of off that, but even the majority of the crowd enjoyed the records he played. It was sooooo sweet. I can't believe anyone would ever talk about Judge Jules. He is probably one of the best live performing Dj's ever. His track selection wasn't even "cheese" like most of you TA's claim. This time is was mostly all bad ass tracks. I almost my pants on a couple of the tunes he played-- thats how god damn good they were. I could only hope that you TA's that hate good music (Judge Jules) will be able to listen to this live set n feel a little differently about the artist.

he were at crasher last saturday (29/03/03), the first few tunes he played were absolutly awesome - like DJ Choose pres. That Mucho - Release Me but his set went really downhill. he even sampled the vocals from Paul Johnson - Get Get Down, oh dear!!

i usually really like jules and his radio show, but his set at crasher that night was pretty poor to be honest.

All respect to you for liking him and all - thats your choice..... but Im afraid I cant like a DJ that rapes Rank 1 - Awakening by playing Justin Timberlake Vocals over it. :(

Wow, yea, he played that Get down vocals this time too, but the crowd loved it. N i've never seen that many people getting into techno music ever. Its usually a select few that are rolling n thats about it. But this time everyone got into the music. And isn't that what being a "good" dj is all about? My friend said that Jules was even better than Paul Van Dyk who played the same club a few saturdays beforehand.

Jules puts on a performance, he doesn't just sit there n mix tracks together for hours on end. He got into the music more than I've ever seen any DJ which is what I pay money to see. I could listen to the tracks on my computer if i just wanted to hear the music. He was also very crowd friendly. People would jump up on the dj stand n he'd lean over to take their requests-- along with a bunch of chicks from the crowd dancing around him. What a great show.

I'm a huge Judge Jules fan so it sux when I read all the slander he gets on msg boards, but all DJs get that. I was a big fan of his before I saw him live, but after my trip to Europe last summer, he became one of my favorites! He just gets so into the music, it's unbelievable. Glad you enjoyed his show in Ohio. He's coming near to Edmonton, about 3 hrs away to Calgary, in a month, but I won't be able to go :(

Um, I doubt he spun any techno to tell you the truth...

i was using "techno" as a general term, like electronica.
