java comes with service pack 1
if you have a legit copy of xp goto windowsupdate.microsoft.com
if you have a illegal copy then it wont work as wen u download service pack one it does check to see if its a legit copy or not, if thats the case you have to find out about getin sp1 to work on your copy by searchin in google etc |

yeah XP is pretty damn buggy
You can still get the JAVA VM (Virtual Machine) just gotta look hard..
i suggest you stay away from the SUN JAVA though |

hell, ya I hate windows XP. Stick with Windows 2k
thats the best one I I ever used. I hate the way you haveto regiser it when instaling..., I also heard that wen you buy it you haveto install in within centrain time or it will expire or something>
ing Microsoft corporation taking control of your computer.
its suposed to be user friendly but I think it takes control and you loose it. I stick with win2k. Allthough I wish there was other operating systems out there that i culd use all my programs and games on. cause thats all that keeps me from swithching to linux. |

games on linux are not as widespread as windows, though most games coded in opengl are avaialble on linux, like quake. in terms of programs theres open office that is nearly 100% compatable with ms office, and anything to do wiht mp3's video, music, etc is on linux
also theres wine that allows you to emulate some windows porgrams on linux |
