To all the TA's,
I request you all to observe 2 minutes of silence after reading this thread.
My condolences go out the helpless victims comprising of children, women, men, villagers and tourists who's lives were mercilessly taken away from them and to those who have lost their property, wealth and most importantly, their loved ones.
May their souls R.I.P

I'm getting pretty tired of this fake, hypocritical sympathy . 1000+ people die in Sudan every ing day, where's you thread about that. I'm not even gonna mention the number of people America shot and starved in Iraq the last decade. |

That's true, but do you want a thread every single second for every single person dead? |

Well, he has an Indian flag and his location says he's in Bangkok, so it's natural that this will have a more impact on him.
There are people who care about these other events too... just because one single person can't do it all, don't judge them for doing their share, no matter how "small" it might look to you ;) |

Maybe someone could explain this to me:
What is the point of a moment of silence? |

I guess so you dedicate at least a small point of your life to that other person/people who are deceased. It's just a traditional thing, like handshakes.
It makes more sense if it's for people who fought for your country, I guess. |

Yeah it seems it's related to prayer.

Personally if I were dead I would prefer people to use it as a reason to do something positive for those still alive rather than sit around for a couple of minutes doing nothing. |
