Ask you friends or family how many Iraq Civilians have been killed in Iraq since the war and see if they get close to the current
statistic which is at ( http://www.iraqbodycount.net/ ). I was suprised to see that there was so many deaths, I think the current U.S death toll is reaching 2000 aswell.
Im sure there are other threads regarding Iraq but it seems like it is old news even though so many lives are being lossed everyday, and they
still aint found any Chemical Weapons or a reason for going to war. This just shows how screwed up U.S & U.K Intelligance is. Ok Saddam was very Evil but I bet there was no Civilian crime in Iraq coz they chop your hands off for stealing a piece of bread.
According to the news Iraq seems worse now than it was at the beginning of the war. Id hate the think how much this is costing, as a high TAX Payer it pisses me off to see us wasting money on pointless war's , when crime and poverty is so high in our own country. I would hate to be a soldier fighting in an ilegal war, risking my life for nothing.
your comments please. |

So, this is a very touchy subject for me. My younger brother is in the Army and I know that he will be going to Iraq within the next year. I also have a cousin who is a Marine and is over there right now. I don't support the war but I support my brother and my cousin and what they chose to do. I also realize why we are there. I don't believe it's about weapons of mass destruction anymore nor is it necessarily about terrorism. In the beginning maybe that's what it was about. However, now I believe it's about our country helping another to seek a liberty they deserve to have...some sort of freedom. And, isn't that something America supposedly prides itself on...helping others. I'm sure in some ways Iraq is worse than it was before...but in the long run things will change for the better. Building a new government does not happen over a few months...it takes years.
Okay...and now I fully expect to be torn apart in some form or another in regards to my post...which is why i never post. |

Iraq is not a poor country they have enough oil resources to finance there govements for a long time (well now they have nothing), your right it was never about WMD, Iran has more Chemical and Nuclear Silo's than iraq ever had why not attach Iraq Neighbour ? Nuclear Bombs are developing everywhere China and Russia have lots aswell.
The money the US and UK have spent on this could of improved lots of worse ' countries ' where poverty is high, also
treat many of the world health issues, also support families who have lost family members in terrorist attacks etc. |

Good point...very good point.
I realize they were never a poor country...it's the people who ran the country. That's where one of their problems existed. I suppose our President and his advisors saw it necessary to "help" them out in that department. I realize there is alot more involved...but, it's 5:10 in the morning where i'm at and i need sleep.;) |

Lol, there's nothing noble about this war. The us just wants to run a piece of the oil monopoly in Iraq. Nothing more, nothing less. |

Personally, I don't think the U.S. has any right to help a country that never asked for their help. Mr. Bush thinks everyone wants to be like the U.S. and he tries to enforce his beliefs and his way of running a country on Iraq. Mr. Bush should take his bible thumping ass to china and see if they will listen. |

I never stated that this war was noble. There was a hint of sarcasm in my post.
I just hate to think that so many lives have been lost in vain. That there is a possibility that I could lose my cousin or my little brother for something senseless, infuriates me.
And, I have no idea what it's actually like over there. I know that when my cousin had to leave for his second tour he told me he didn't think he would come back this time. So, I imagine the morale is definately low over there.
And I'm just curious to know how many of you actually know anything about what their government was like before we invaded? Have any of you actually read any comments from ppl who lived there? |

So you don't think that there other countries out there that would LOVE to have the same freedoms we have here America? Why do you think so many people from Cuba leave their home country and come here? People come to America to seek what they couldn't have in their own country. Maybe not all, but most. |

owned.
Iraq wasn't a poor country? Oh that explains the perks that their citizens enjoyed. Russia is also a "Wealthy" country and most of the population earns a dollar a day because all the money is concentrated in the top 3 percent of the population. |
