Thinking about getting into a relationship with someone that is around 100 miles away from where I live. Moving for either of us isn't an option. It seems like a good idea, but I have heard so many negative experiences. Anyone have a positive one? lol
Theres a saying in Spanish that goes "Amor de lejos, amor de pendejos," which keeps on popping up in my head over and over making me doubtful. The saying pretty much translate to "long distance love is love for stupids" basically making fun of long distance relationships.
Discuss, please. *Braces for flaming as well*

Absence makes the heart want to fondle other people.
Don't do it.

100 miles is not really far :p
Yes, I've had a positive experience. Had a 2.5 year long relationship with someone 20 thousand kilometres away from me. It wasn't nearly as hard as I thought it would be: We had our ups and downs as all couples do, but we survived.

Not particularly. He just couldn't keep his dick in his pants. Nothing new.

100 miles is nothing man. I dated a girl for 2 years, the second year of which we spent 3,000 miles away. That second year was total hell. Never again.

Well, that's not nearly as entertaining as I was hoping for.

It depends what you want out of a relationship. If you only want someone to be emotionally close with and you do not care about hanging out and doing activities together then go for it. Also, you have to be very confident in yourself. But, monogamous relationships in general are bull for most people because most people are not comfortable enough with themselves to have anything to contribute to a one on one relationship.
