Grave of Fireflies (extremely depressing)

Currently exploring Now and then, here and there

The quality however isnt so good.. its okay, on par with VHS - around 120MB divx each ep. But it would be nicer if i could get SBC divx versions. I would buy the series, but its not avaliable here locally, meaning I'll have to import it therefore costing me an arm and 2 legs...

One VERY popular anime series that I've yet to see it GTO. You would not by any chance have this? hehe

Yea.. MAD... i can get Escaflowne again, but it's gonna cost me a heap... and I don't have GTO, however I do have some ppl i can ask, u just have to wait a bit until i get a reply, and they remember to give it to me.

I've been looking around for the whole series as well... and yes, none found locally, only on amazon and costing an arm and a leg.

Again i'll get back to u on GTO, and pm u when/if i get it, if not then i'll find something else to send u... and if not then i'll pay for shipping/mail if ur still willing to send me escaflowne... (I REALLY want them all!):tongue3 :haha: :happy2: :toocool:

And i've still not been able to find the English dub of Astro boy, only the original japanese on DVD... which totally sux. Like can u still get it here.??
Hybrid Junkie
ww000000tttt!!!

Wings of Honneamise (I really enjoyed this)
Battle Angel Alita
Rurouni Kenshin
Akira
Ninja Scrolls (only original, the sequel spin off things SUCK)
Princess Mononoke
Spirited Away (OMG Amazing movie, alice in wonderland on acid, fuuckk!)
Spriggan (Aweessomme fights, w00t)
Ghost In The Shell
Neon Genesis Evangelion
Cowboy Bebop (ehehe)
Blood: The Last Vampire

argghh love it love it all! (actually there's some real crap ones, but you get the gist)

also I can't remember the name but there was this one with the seven dragons of heaven and the seven dragons of earth or something. And they heaven ones protected major landmark thingys in tokyo, and the other ones were trying to destroy them. They made these shield thingys and it transported them so any damage done wasn't done in reality unless the person who made the shield died, then all the damage really happened.

Has anyone seen this I can't remember the name....was pretty cool.

You're thinking of X - the movie ^_^
Yeah, i think its all good too, except for the real crap ones (mainly hentai but gotta admit urotsukidouji is one of the unfortunate defining pieces of anime. Someone i know watches it for the story... well hmmm rrrright)

Wings of Honneamise is sooooo good - so few ppl i know get it/ like it. Why????

So glad to see so many anime junkies out there. Can't get enuf. Pity that Madman's about the only distributor in Oz though, bit slow. N EB seems bout the only place willing to stock all their stuff. Only legit source at the moment.

No worries mate, tiz all good... PM me your details and I'll send them off as soon as possible. :)

As for Astroboy, I don't think the english dubs are on DVD, something to do with strict licensing agreements bla bla... They're only avaliable in Japan - non subbed. A big shame indeed. On a bright note, we should be seeing the new Astroboy series fansubbed and on the net very very soon. ^_^

Hybrid Junkie: Boredom is correct, X - the movie... If you guys liked the movie, watch the TV series!!! Fans of the X manga hated the movie because it was too rushed and it was tragic having to squeeze the whole storyline into 2 hours. :)

Wings of Honneamise is breath-taking, I especially love the music soundtrack ;)

A good place to get anime in Australia is the Cartoon Gallery, they import all sorts of anime goods:

The Cartoon Gallery's Website

The Cartoon Gallery is great. Before I discovered Central Station Records and started really getting into music that's where I spent all my money! :) hahah
I haven't been there for years. Last time I went there they were still in the QVB (I believe they have moved somewhere bigger, is that right? hahah, I'm so out of touch these days!)

There used to be a shop in Market City that supplied me with all my wall scrolls and posters...but I think it might have been replaced by some other store :(
There are so many of these hidden little shops in Chinatown...you can find some real gems.

hey boredom, can i borrow Wings of Honneamise :|

Indeed Ves! :D
I too spend all of my cash there!! MUAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA

The Cartoon Gallery has moved.. they are now @ The Imperial Arcade in Pitt Street, about 2 minutes walk from the QVB, and yesh, its about 3 times larger than their pervious QVB store!!!! :D :D :D :eyes::eyes:

And the store in market city has been replaced by one of those "Morning Glory" type shops. hehe I think the shop had to close down cause they got busted selling pirated/fake stuff. :conf:
Philby
im not heavily into it or anything, but ive seen some of the more talked about films and i generally like them. the ones ive seen:
akira
ghost in the shell
battle angel alita
streetfighter - the movie
and a sequel of something but i cant remember the name, been on sbs a couple of times, big mechs, some kind of conspiracy and a couple of loyal soldiers including the good old disgraced general or something trying to expose it. good fight near the end in a tunnel.

transformers and robotech are my favourite cartoons ever, i just absolutely loved them. i thought neon genesis evangelion was pretty good too, but i dont think i got the last episode, we taped it off sbs and i think the reception was really . ill have to borow them one day from the video shop. this was all a few years ago now so i don't know whats good now or anything.

hehe ive also heard of legend of the overfiend, some of my friends at school went on about it. i havent actually watched it myself though, i think that will have to wait till nobody else is home and i have a big enough trench coat to disguise myself at the video shop or something :p
