I am pretty sure that if it wasnt our believe towards God n the first place there had been a chaos. The fear and the love towards God is what keeps us people go on with life. |
that's true, christianity as a religion did instill some fundamental values in people, BUT knowing what we know now about the world, i can't see how anyone can still follow any religion... i mean, it wasn't until 30 years ago that the church admitted that earth wasn't centre of the world...
pfft, there is no reason why anyone now should be dedicated to any religion, but only for their own insecurity... |

The Bible had been written by a human, no doubt about that. It had been written by a very intelegent man. Who knew the people and the pwer beyond them. The Bible is something like a encyclopedia of the world we dont see. |
Or maybe he just took way to many shrooms and made the whole thing up from his drug visions? ! :D |

It's a fair point. Now that people are educated enough to differentiate between right and wrong, and as science dispels many stories from the bible, is there still a need for religion? Religion causes war.

The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepards the week through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the lord when I lay my vengeance upon you.
Poepelbaum - 25:17 --> Good hardtrance track :D
Believe it or not, the Bible is real. Some things you mentioned about killing each other is atated in the Bibel, yes. But that was the Old Testamen (? don't know the Enlish word).
In the New Testamant it's all about love and respect. If all people lived like that, we would have a happy world..... |

Well I don't think that religion should be something that is adopted at times need and then discarded once you have surpassed times of trouble. Yes religion causes war but I think much of that is caused by misinterpretations by the fanatical or ignorant. Religion in itself is an admirable concept of placing value in self sacrifice for the betterment of others and society still has much to learn from what religion teaches. |
