I don't celebrate Easter, and i give/recieve gifts on Christmas because it makes my family happy. Shove it.

I dont celebrate easter, but i do indeed like chocolate bunnies.

I consider myself to be a Christian too..
I am not going to preach or try to persuade anyone but here are my thoughts...
First.
Many people look at the Bible and reads the surface and make fun of what they see on the surface. The Bible was not meant to be just a book you pick up and read and understand. I have been reading the Bible for a long time and there are new things I discover each time I read it. We tend to look at the words, but not the message it is trying to convey.
Second.
The Church, as we all know, has not been a good role model for society. Why? Because they, believe it or not, ARE HUMAN TOO! They make mistakes, they get corrupted by greed and power. No one is perfect, or even comes close to it. We cannot put our absolute faith and trust in humans.
Third.
I think we should respect each other's beliefs and opinions even if you don't agree with them. I have a friend who is all-out atheist and we have 2 very different belief systems, yet I have respect in what he believes because he doesn't just say God doesn't exist but he backs it up with evidence. I do believe that God does exist and whether you believe or don't believe, that is up to yourself. But please respect each other's beliefs and morals. Express what you truly believe, but also be considerate of what other people believe.

And you won't just because you believe in the bibe? Come on, even the RC church said that if you are a good and moral person you have a chance of going to heaven regardless of whether you are a christian. Let's assume for a second christianity is right. So do you really think a scumbag like you who steals money for weed will go to heaven just for believing in god? It's even worse than stealing and not believing in god, because when you do believe in god, you know stealing is wrong, but if you don't believe in god that's not necessarily the case. So you are intentionally working against the god's demandments posted in the 10 commands.
Btw, have you for once considered that the jewish/christian/muslim faith may be completely wrong? Who's to say it's better than Roman or Greek religion?
And just fyi, I don't celebrate Easter or Christmass. And if you were a bit more educated, you'd know that Easter and Christmass were originally pagan celebrations in the germanic/slavic/celtic/romanic tribes of early Europe prior to christianity. The christmas was celebrating the end of the winter, and the easter was celebrating fertility (hence the rabbits). When christianity came, it just partially changed the meaning of those festivities. So you can celebrate those two without believing in christianity. |
