I disagree that Trance is dead. Perhaps montreals prefernences are changing but Trance is still alive and well and isn't going anywhere for a long time. The headliners at almost all major events are still Trance Dj's. Even such events in England where clubbing is suffering pretty bad, the major events still have many trance events.
Upcoming events:
Gatecrasher, Lotherton Hall June 27th!!!

Trance isnt dead. Look at the top 10 djs in the dj mag and dj list. It's just evolving. (and about time too!)

My tastes may expand, but heart is always with Trance.

Heh I'm in love with prog and regularly enjoy house, but trance is still the main thing for me. It's just that most trance sucks these days, but there are still many gems being produced.

alec
I wouldn't say most Trance sucks, I think there's just so much out there now that we've become super picky, after all most of us evolved off ATB and the likes , looking back now, its soo simple but at the time it was great because there was no competition. I think Trance is not dead, but no longer holds the limelight everywhere, other genres are pulling even or getting more exposure, genres like break beats and electro.
morsy
just to let u know house exists since the 80's breakbeats since the early 90's even late 80's
so trance never held the lime light like u think it did .HOUSE music hold and will always be the main Focus of this culture.
Trance is just another one of these types of music that is just passing by to say hallo...
