Some people don't like taking risks and that's fine... personally, I think if something has a .1% chance of killing someone and a 99.9% chance of improving the quality of their life then they might as well do it... |

by the way, what's this 5-htp thing? How you make it / where you get it?
David |
5 HTP is an amino acid precursor for serotonin, and you can get it at most herbal stores.
but it's also been shown that taking too much can lead to hardening of your arteries. |

diginut: i understand what you are trying to say. however, i also wouldnt compare something like smoking weed or something with a really small risk, to taking E and having long term damage. i would, at minimum, say its a moderate risk, not a small 1% one.
by the way, your avatar is really cute >_< |

PeacefulWarrior - thanks for the diagram ;)
How common are these 'long term damage' cases?
I spoke to a guy i know from college, and he said he was takin them all the time about 2 summers ago, "all the time" - not sure how often this.. anyways, i dont relly know the guy so i dont really want to go asking questions.. I've experienced the short term effects myself, but they've never really left their mark on me - always clearin up within a few days - thank God!
by the way, can someone please answer a question which has been baffling me for about 3 years.. what's the difference between the word 'affect' & 'effect'. My english teached once tried to explain it to me, but said it was a bit complicated.. So does anybody out there accept the challenge of explaining it to me???
Dave ;) |

LoL ;):D thanks, I think it's an Ermine.
I'll probably still end up trying it anyway, I don't see how much worse it could be than getting pissed drunk. :stongue: Maybe that's a bad attitude to have, but I've read all that I can that's been published so at least it's not based on ignorance (just blatant disregard for my own health). I can't see myself getting into it regularly, but a few times yes.
Dave: affect is a verb, effect is a noun, that's the main difference (except when used in the context of "effect a change", which really means to "cause a change", which is the exact opposite of what it should mean and is also grammatically incorrect, so don't use it). |

Well if i do ever decide to take them again i suppose i could get some of that stuff. Any where you can buy it on the internet? Or would it be possible to make it yourself?
I know, me sayin now that i'm goin off them ..next time i'm out + i'm in a good mood i know i'll prob go lookin for some. But I do want to go off them. I've tried before, but this time i really want to go off them. It's just not worth it anymore.
Maybe i'll just do it on special occasions like yourself..

i'm no psychologist or anything, but i've noticed some stuff i'd like to add.
it sounds like you've developed a real mental addiction to E. You have to have some underlieing mental problems (i don't mean mental problems as some sorta major psychiatric disorders, but as depression, low self esteem etc.) if you have such a lack of will power where you are willing to break down and take a substance which you believe has a very negative effect on yourself. When you are choosing to do something you believe is bad for you, you are putting a short term experience or a drug or however you view it as more important than your mental well being.
i think these other problems are greatly exacerbated (worstened) by your incredibly heavy use of Ecstasy (10 a night is waaaay too much, thats killer on your brain and body).
as was said earlier, it all depends on the person taking the drug.
i wouldn't put so much blame on ecstasy for ing you up. i think the problems you are experiencing now where already present. the ecstasy is just bringing it out, and making them alot worse then they already were. |

ive never taken a drug in my life aside from, well, alcohol.
why is it you take drugs? it IS proven it damages you.
fine, i understand it may make you feel good, but why is
it associated with electronic music so much?
do you NEED the drugs to enjoy the music?
im starting to think most people that take drugs
(at least around here) are ing ignorants.
like my sister for example, she and her crowd,
they are just starting to know the electronica
world. but all her girlfriends are talking about
'weed' and 'X' and pretty much posing as 'ravers'
and implying drugs make them more 'raver' like.
in the great words of Derrick May
'the kids take a pill to feel the funk.
the DJ takes a pill to feel the funk.
i dont take a pill to feel the funk.'
dont get me wrong, i got nothing against people
using drugs, its none of my business. but i just
dont understand WHY you do it.
whenever they mention 'party' or 'hangout' you
think 'weed' or 'ecstacy'... can you say
A-D-D-I-C-T-I-O-N ?
how about D-E-P-E-N-D-E-N-C-Y ?
ive seen drugs tear people up. an old friend of mine
(top of his class, straight A student, athletic, was
top of his class in do u-ryu, funny, and abusively
smart) for some reason felt depressed. he turned to
marihuana, ecstacy and possibly cocaine. about 2 years
ago his little brother found him on his bed, with his
dads gun in his hand, soaked in blood, and a bullet in
his head. thank god, he didnt die, was in coma for a while,
but he's back to normal, or as close as he can be. |

Your answer can be found by suplementing the word drug with the word alcohol in your post and by asking yourself why you drink. You can take every single situation that you stated and apply that to alcohol. Although I haven't touched a non-alchohol based drug in years (and never more in the future), I find it ludicrous that people maintain an anti-drug attitute without applying that mentality towards alcohol. |

read carefully now... does it say i drink anywhere? no, it says that the only drug ive TRIED is alcohol, nowhere does it state that i use it on a regular basis. not to mention, in the amounts a common person takes alcohol, even a nearly excessive person, it doesnt really compare to the damage marihuana/ecstacy/cocaine can cause to your body in the most minimal amount.
whats more dangerous, say, a shot of tequila or a pill? |
|
|
| Micheline |
alcohol is much more danger then marijuana. marijuana is the most secure drug ever. stop, learn your facts first.
by the way its marijuana, not marihuana as you stated. you dont show any respect. |

u feel disrespected because i misspelled your favorite drug? thats a new one... btw, check your dictionary:
mar·i·jua·na also mar·i·hua·na ( P ) Pronunciation Key (mr-wän)
n.
n 1: a strong-smelling plant from whose dried leaves a number of euphoriant and hallucinogenic drugs are prepared [syn: marijuana, marihuana, ganja, pot, grass, dope, weed, gage, sess, sens, skunk, Mary-Jane, Cannabis sativa] 2: the dried leaves of the hemp plant; smoked or chewed for euphoric effect [syn: cannabis, marijuana, marihuana, ganja, pot, grass, dope, weed, gage, sess, sens, smoke, skunk, Mary Jane]
and err, facts say, marihuana causes lung cancer... 2x more lung cancer than a normal cigarette... isnt that a 'bit' dangerous now? |
