Aren't you the same fellow who said he had the Berretta pistol when he was a little kid?? I think I'd have a much greater chance of dying by bullet if I lived in a region plauged by civil war...*hint hint*

Canada on the other side, which is also a country with loads of weapon purchases is a whole other mentality...the movie shows u the opposite of how it SHOULD be...
I think this movie is perfectly made in every way...to show people how sick America is...and it convinced me too.
The director had the intention to let people open their eyes...if u watch the movie u'll know what I mean |
I love how u keep sayin america is this, america is that. Its not America but instead its the crazy, psycho bastards in america. Those people belong in a mental institution. The kids that killed students were crazy in the head. Every country has crazy and psycho people that do the same thing its just that America has more of those type of people. |

Not if he increased Australia's homicide rate by two. And it's not a .4% chance of getting shot, it's if you are ALREADY going to die, the chances that you die by gun is .4%. This is especially relevant since the movie revolved around guns and American society. |

Absolutely, there are crazy psycho people in every nation who would go on gun rampages given half an opportunity. The problem is, though, in the US these "crazy, psycho bastards" have relatively easy access to powerful weapons - would the Columbine kids have been able to cause as much damage if they only had regulation pistols or, better still, only knives or their bare-hands? Or could the situation have been averted - as the pro-gun people would say - if every student had a >> Tec-DC9 << (that was used in the shootings) on them as well, that day, for self-defence?

These were three of the most powerfully ignorant statements I've read on these forums for a long time. If people in the US are wondering why it the most hated country in the world right now, these sort of attitudes should give you some indication.
If you want to air you opinions, at least try and air them using facts and reason like Occrider, otherwise you're best just keeping your mouth shut. You're giving reasonable American people a bad name. |

Firstly, we didn't ban all guns, only certain types. Look at these reforms (introduced in 1997) and tell me which of these you find to be unreasonable:

I'm sorry you feel that way. I just happened to find it a bit hypocritical that someone who played with a 9mm pistol as a child, and lives in a region torn by war would criticize the gun laws (and therefore the availability/access of guns) in another country. I've never fired a gun, nor do any of my friends or family own guns. Now, on another level I can understand people's criticism of the US when it comes to shooting supposedly free people demonstrating in Iraq. I certainly hope there were reporters there so we can know the truth about those incidents. |
